Are Covid Therapeutics on board HAL ships?

This is probably a question for folks currently on HAL ships that might be able to find out the answer.  I contacted my TA - when he contacted HAL they told him to call the Medical division but they are closed for the Holiday.  We have until Sunday evening to cancel to get a FCC so that is why I am asking here.

Just wondering if the HAL ships have the Covid Therapeutics available on board to use if guest get sick and are need of more advanced treatment?  I know they have great medical facilities that we have used on past cruises so just wondering if these medications are available on the ships.

If they do, are you willing to lay out the $1500+  that one dose of the monclonal antibody will cost you?

I have no idea what a course of the new pill treatment will cost on board ship, but I would be willing to bet it is also extremely pricey.

I would expect list at around $560 for a course of treatment.

All treatments (Covid or not) may be more expensive on a cruise ship.  I doubt the fees are regulated, and one can't really "go to another medical facility down the street", so there's not much competition.

Travel insurance would cover the costs, and at least with the policies we've had, there isn't even any deductible or co-pay.

(And the one time we had a real medical *emergency*, we were very impressed with how the ship's medical staff handled it.  Even our specialist at home, at a major teaching hospital, said that IF we had shown up in their ER, the treatment would have been pretty much the same.  That was comforting.  However, there is a lot of specialized equipment - and specialists - that are just not available on a cruise ship... or at the corner Pronto Clinic/etc.... and there's no ER a reasonably fast ambulance ride away.)

However, for now at least, there isn't nearly enough of the monoclonal antibody treatments to go around at the major medical facilities.  I can't imagine that cruise ships would be carrying some of the precious supplies "just in case" as they cruise round and round.  And apparently, round and round some more!  And because it's supposed to be given at the very start of infection, this doesn't even get saved for the "very ill", so an awful lot might be needed/used.  (No wonder it's in short supply!)

The various therapeutics are not in surplus supply. They are being committed to places, like busy hospitals, where there is high demand for likely patients. Sitting on a variety of cruise ships possibly expiring due to lack of use is not the wisest assignment of a limited resource.

@iflyrc5 See this Thread: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2821111-anyone-knows-what-quarantine-is-like-on-board/

The quarantined passenger told me while they haven’t needed medication, the medical team told them they would get them what they needed (had they needed medication). You may want to ask him if he has specifics on types of treatment available, he has been helpful in interacting with posters on the board.

Thank you.

I tried to pull the information from various sources, but had no luck.

I do miss my access to the information in FDA's marketing applications.
