Walked around a bit and got back on. We asked our waiter friend if we could get him anything since they aren't allowed on land and he asks for body wash, fish oil and body spray so we found those at the shops and gave them to him a bit ago. He originally said no we didn't need to but we insisted.

If you have favorite waiter or staff etc, on top of cash tips, ask if they want or need anything from land. Many haven't stepped foot on land in many months and don't have access to some random things they used to be able to enjoy like what he asked us for. I've heard of many random things like Nutella and body wash.. Stuff they can't buy in their crew shop onboard. They're overworked right now and doing everything they can to keep us passengers happy all while never allowed on shore.

I thought I read somewhere or heard it on a you tube video that  alot of the crew members order stuff off Amazon and have it delivered to the ships home port.

Correct, but delivery generally takes some time as the delivery to the ship only happens periodically. Aboard with jord has done some videos and she's had passengers bring her stuff too since Amazon isn't always quick for them and I think there are rules involved but not sure what.

Will be on allure in Feb…do they have a frozen mojito?

Looks like we are almost neighbors. When in February? We will be on again on February 5th.

Just did the scan the ole SetSail pass barcode trick to see if my guarantee OV balcony room for our Allure OTS cruise on Feb 27th was assigned yet, and low and behold. 12566.

Not to bad! right by the elevators, near mid ship, not below the pool deck. Looks like a room I would pick if I wasn't in the saving money mood. Now for sure, I will not go overboard with the RoyalUp bid. (Pardon the pun)

I have been getting multiple emails to Royal Up for my Allure cruise tomorrow. OS as low as 540.00 pp. I have also gotten some for the 22nd, but not as many.

Well to make you feel warmer, the temperature in PA is going to be 13 degrees tonight. ☀️ 🏝

Hope it’s a beautiful day for you!

Is there going to be a lot of snow before you come down?

Appears that Odyssey has given up and sailing away. They must feel there is no hope for Coco Cay today.

Yeah, that was us.  It seemed pretty obvious that it was a no-go from the first announcement but since we really had no place to go except back to Ft. Lauderdale, he kept making circles and pretending to check, probably to stall the complainers.  On one of the passes, he went really slowly with the island and the the Allure clearly in view, so anyone who didn't believe it could get a good view.  🙂

We were wondering how you all were faring on board.  We found the value of the climate-controlled Solarium on Odyssey  - it was quite comfortable in there.

colesc.... I want to thank you for the informative week you given me about the Allure OTS. My wife and I have decided to book a GS on the Allure next year when she repositions to Galveston so we can celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We plan to get the UDP but not the DBP (we drink very little these days). Question for you - Which were your favorite dinner venues? Any surprises good or bad?

Our first cruise was on the Cunard Countess in 1986 out of San Juan. We've also been on several others, but not in the last 15 years. We've been on the Voyager OTS (biggest for us) and the Celebrity Xpedition (Galapagos Islands - smallest for us at 92 passengers before they added a few cabins several years ago). So, now we're going to upsize it in a big way.

Thanks again for all the great info!

You'll love it! Oasis class is great. Chops is always a favorite. Sabor was just average.

The worst part of the cruise..

20220115_224909.thumb.jpg.30dea5b1b22b6470b11ea4f7aa08ac21.jpg

Stopped in the casino tonight and played off my point play and also talked to the host and got my free oceanview cruise or $750off. Not sure it'll get used since we already have oasis booked in March and ovation in Alaska in the summer but we shall see.

Thank you all for coming along with me! I had a great time putting this together. Tomorrow we fly home and I can't wait to see my pups.

For those on the fence of cruising, we had an amazing cruise. Yes we missed some ports but as long as you're going in with the mindset that you may or may not get each port on the itinerary, you will enjoy it as well. We felt safer onboard than on land, and just was more cautious than usual in crowded areas. We met some AMAZING crew (shout out to Elvis at the pool) and some amazing people we met throughout the week.

Kudos to all the staff giving it their all through these crazy times, and hopefully our Oasis cruise in March, omicron will be a little less crazy.

Thanks all! Happy sailing!

colesc15 (and others) - Thanks so much for all the great info.  My wife and I are booked on the Allure on the 2/19, and were also considering postponing, but this has been super helpful in easing our worries.  Glad your time was fun and looking forward to our voyage!

Thanks!!
