Benny, I also wanted to express my appreciation for this amazing thread. I know how much time it takes to do this and TBH many a times myself I'm no longer interested in making any more trip posts on a particular post. I was on the Apex last month for nine days and there are many things in your photos that I never got to see in person myself, so thanks for the wonderful travelogue.

Thank you so much !!!  I just felt it was the right time to post a different perspective of cruising.  Reading the news articles they mostly paint such a negative perspective and seems they only wanted to highlight the bad and the over exaggeration of what is happening right now.  Not sure if you saw the article on NCL GEM that was cancelled mid cruise and the only perspective USA Today reported was what a nightmare it was by a birthday cruiser.  They didn’t mention the other 99% how they felt about the cruise line giving them all their money back PLUS another cruise (FCC) equivalent of what they paid.  While still able to enjoy the amenities onboard.  So thank you to all for coming along to see what it is like onboard from someone that actually went on a cruise with no agenda and expectations.

Thank you both (Benny and SNJ) for this fabulous, informative, upbeat, and positive review of the beautiful Apex. The pictures are magazine worthy too!

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I was on the Apex in November and had never seen some the places you photographed so well. It might have been the casino that caused me to miss a few things, especially the shows and music.

Will be on the Edge in a few weeks and I will be sure to enjoy a few more shows, listen to the music in the Martini bar, and just walk around and take in all the beauty that is the Edge class.

It is a big ship and I firmly believe that you should do what makes you happy and relaxed while on vacation and not to have the must do everything listed in the cruise planner.  That being said, I also like to try to do one new thing everyday that I normally would not do or have little interest in, like going to see Claire Gobin.  I am so glad I did because that was an amazing show and what she can do with that violin was phenomenal.  This way I get to experience new things and share it with everyone here lol.

Benny, I get a message from CC saying they can't locate the item when I click on your videos.

That is so weird how some people can see the video and some can not.  I am so sorry.  Unfortunately that is above my pay grade to figure out the IT structure behind CC.  I was just glad I was able to post all week without having to do that clear website data thing on my phone to make CC work. Lol.

And to echo everyone else, thank you so much for sharing!  Your pictures were amazing and cannot tell you how thoroughly engaging your live thread was!  (sorry I cannot seem to view the videos...I'm sure those are equally enjoyable....alas I am technologically illiterate lol).  You have a real gift in your writing style Benny, and your positive attitude was very much appreciated!  😊

Thank you so much!  So sorry about the videos.  I hope someone who knows the trick on how to get the videos to work will be able to share it with us.  Thank you for coming along!

At the RIDICULOUS price of $89 for a day pass!!!😬

And it is before 20% gratuities! That’s why typically book Aqua where it is included. On our last 7-day cruise in December we tried a Suite (with Retreat) on the Edge; so, we had to buy the Thermal Suites - we payed $479 (including gratuities) package (per couple for 7 days).

Also forgot to mention another "plus" from your thread Benny.  Aside from the enjoyment of following you live, your pictures and comments had me reflecting on my own Edge sailing back in December of 2018 and reliving some great memories.  Thank you for that!  😊

I may be way off base here, but I wonder if the free cruise that you received had anything to do with this thread?  From the comments and responses on here, you certainly seemed to have impacted some people's decisions who were considering cancelling their cruises as your comments and pics helped to change their minds to go for it!  As well as others noting they will now book on the E Class after following along!  Maybe Celebrity saw these comments??

Looking forward to your next live thread!

Benny,

viceos working fine on my IPad.  Thanks for posting them.

The video mystery deepens 😂…. In all seriousness I am truly sorry the videos are not working for some.  I truly have no idea what is happening!

Thank you so much!  I am so glad!!  That is another mystery I have no idea how or why it got there along with a bottle of Pinot Noir and the delicious strawberries sent to our room the last day of the cruise!!!  The beautiful APEX is full of wonder and mystery!

Thanks for all the updates. We're on the ship next week and hoping that all the gloom and doom that some posts have had are overhyped.

we've sailed the Edge twice.  it is a magnificent ship.  All the negative comments must have come from people who complain about everything.

I'm a 'typical Carnival cruiser' and would be the first person to hold the door for your wife.  On the other hand, I have been almost run over by people in scooters trying to be first in the elevator - not even giving me the chance to hold the door for them.  So there's that.

The 12 days on the Apex was the first cruise that we have taken with my wife in her scooter.  We have 9 more planned for 2022 totaling 65 days on Carnival, Princess, RCI and NCL.  It will be a different animal on our subsequent cruises this year since I know all of the occupancy percentages will be higher as well as the demographics and idiosyncrasies of the cruisers on the various lines.  Besides Princess I have first hand experience on all of them, with 20 on Carnival.

As long as common decency comes into play I don't think we'll have too many problems, but of course alcohol consumption can change the behavior of many.

Have anyone found the answer to open the videos ?

The videos won't open on my laptop, but they open fine on my iPhone - and someone else shared that they opened on an iPad, my guess is that this is a proprietary thing.

Good morning,

our SJ stop is replaced with Nassau ( no surprise). I read you went to Junnanoo Beach on this cruise and to the Graycliff Compound on your previous cruise.  Were they both easy to find from the pier?  Thanks again.
