Does anyone know if Atlantis is open to take a water-taxi over?  Thanks for any info.

Atlantis is open, we stayed there in early November. Water Taxi was running. I can not tell you what the rules governing non-guest visits (assuming you're coming off a ship) is though.

Yes we are coming in on a boat so I wanted to know if they were letting people still visit on a day pass or go to the casino. LOL

I didn't see water taxis when I was in Nassau in August. I think the port construction was impacting where they used to be.

If you don't care about the the waterpark, pools or beach you don't need a day pass.  You can tour the grounds, see the aquariums, visit most everything including the casino for free/without a pass.

So it is open to visit? The free part is really what is was wanting to know was still available.

We went to Atlantis in Early November to go to the casino. We had to take our drivers license and our vaccine cards. The taxi took us to the beginning of the driveway at the front of the casino and let us out. There was a security guard at that point and he checked our paperwork and let us thru. Not sure if it’s changed since then or not.

Where did the water taxis dock over on the Nassau side?  The port construction appeared to subsume the old water taxi pier.

I visited while on Mardi Gras using an Atlantis day pass in October, and I also flew into Nassau in early November, but stayed at Comfort Suites Paradise Island since it's much cheaper, a nicer hotel, has free breakfast and much cheaper onsite food, and still provides full access to Atlantis and Aquaventure.

For the OP, depending on the size of your party it might be cheaper to book a room at the Comfort Suites in advance, take a taxi there, check in, check out, get your pink cards (for Aquaventure wristbands) and just walk up the hill to the Coral Tower entrance.  It's one of the best "cruise hacks" for Nassau and can potentially save people a few hundred dollars depending on the season, since adding people to a room at CSPI only costs $40.

Proof of vaccination for cruisers is required.  A negative test was not required for cruise passengers, but IS required for tourists arriving by air and also a test before departing for the U.S. (generally free).

Yes, but be sure to bring your covid vaccination card (at least in Nov. they were checking that before you could enter, actually as soon as you stepped out of the taxi) - I would not have thought of that had I not overhead another passenger.

Yep.  Ours were checked twice -- once by the guard at the bottom of the hill, and again when we went to get our Aquaventure wristbands.

Access to the casino has historically been free, but you will be stopped before getting into the grounds or The Dig (aquarium).  You will either be stopped at the foot of the hill from the Coral Tower entrance OR before you enter the Royal Towers lobby.   You cannot "sneak around" and enter through Marina Village; that entrance further down the hill has been blocked off with a chain-link fence for access-control.

This was NOT my experience in late October, was never stopped, there wasn't any "check points" nor was there a fence blocking off the Marina Village (was there around 930am, most places hadn't opened yet).  Perhaps things have changed.  When I was there, everything was wide open, walked in the main entrance and you have walk by the aquarium in order to get the casino.  The day before we visited we had shared breakfast and a nice couple told us nearly all of Atlantis (minus the water) is open without a daypass and they had been doing this for years.

We never used the Water Taxi. I did see it running, but not sure where it's docking in town. CSPI is a great option, we stayed there a few years ago and had a nice time. Not sure about being a nicer hotel than Atlantis, at least in the nicer rooms, but certainly much more economical. We had a promotional offer thing for Atlantis through AMEX so we stayed almost for free, but typically I would go with your recommendation of CSPI too.

Was there in December, and there were checkpoints and the noted fence.

Aha!  It sounds like you might have entered Atlantis through the Royal Towers entrance, since the aquarium is the lower level of the Royal lobby and the casino is to the right.  From the "normal" entrance at the Coral Tower over by Marina Village, you encounter the casino before the aquarium.
