Carnival just (quietly) announced smoking is back in the casino starting Jan 31.  And the smoking bar will be back to smoking the same date.  So, I'm pretty much assuming smoking will be back inside also on princess, I'll see in 2 weeks.

On our Jan.2 Caribbean Princess cruise the casino was packed every night despite it being non smoking.

If that's what Princess is experiencing on all their ships I would imagine it will become permanent.

I think those who like to gamble will continue to do so and those who would not go due to the smoke will now join them. I doubt they will lose revenue.

Just off the Ruby and boy was it ever wonderful to not have the entire piazza destroyed by smoke on sea days and at night on port days.  Then on the last night I realized that the Disco up in Skywalkers might also be smoke free now so I ventured up.  Lo and Behold it was!!!!!   So I stayed up waaaay too late having a great time dancing.  What fun.

I don't remember smoking being permitted in Skywalkers for a long time.  Am I incorrect?

Does this mean they have now opened the cigar bar to smoking again?  DH thought he wouldn’t get to enjoy a cigar while on our next cruise.   He was saving an Opus X grandson bought him for Christmas .

Smoke-free casino on Princess!  Best cruise news - ever!

I told a friend who is going to cruise for the first time on Princess.  This person was not going to use the casino because of the smoking. With the news that the casino is now a smoke free zone they have changed their mind and will now visit the casino to gamble.

I think making the casino smoke free will be a win for Princess.

After your cruise please start a new topic and let people know after your next Princess cruise if smoking in the casino is still banned.

While on the Sky last week cigar bar was closed but DH was allowed to enjoy his cigars outside on deck 17 aft.

I don't think it was ever permitted up there.

Smoking was definitely allowed in the disco area as recently as 2017. It was the first time I went to the disco and asked a crew member what was up with all the smoking?  I was told there was a smoking section. Of course as we all know that translates to a smoking room. I never returned until a week ago when I realized all indoor smoking was banned.

@pedirnindoor smoking lounges across the fleet are still closed.

Thanks.   We are aware of outdoor smoking area.   Just not appropriate for a cigar that costs $40-$42 a piece.   Wind would burn it up fast and it wouldn’t be enjoyed.   But it might be an option for a lesser priced cigar…..DH can bring a few of those.
