Skyclass Rookie

Recommended Posts

I'll be sailing in Sky Class on Oasis at the end of this month, and have never done it before. We've already been in contact with the concierge, and have our dinner reservations set for the entire cruise. Other things we should know? What other type of things do people ask for help with? Is there a dress code for the Suite Lounge? Thanks!

We are also new to sky class…..we received a royal up from a spacious balcony to a Grand 1 bedroom suite a few days ago.  Would we get an email from concierge?

If not, then how do we contact the concierge to make our specialty dinner reservations (we purchased 3 night package).

another question is …..Is the use of the Thermal spa included for suite guests?

thanks!

i would assume you'd get an email. we didn't do anything and it just showed up. they made our reservations at Coastal Kitchen, as well as the specialty restaurants we wanted. I do not thing the thermal spa is included (although it would be amazing if it was!).

We had a Grand suite 1 bedroom on Symphony at the beginning of September. We got it from a royal up so we were not well versed in what was included. We found out a lot during the cruise, so maybe we can help. First, we discovered near the end of the cruise that beer and wine are served in the suite lounge all day complementary, so take advantage throughout your cruise. During the cocktail hours the bar opens up, and here is a tip:. We tipped with each round from the beginning, and were never charged for premium alcohol. I drank The Macallan scotch all cruise and my wife was given her choice of wines in stock, some of which were buttery smooth. The official rules are that you pay the difference over $13, so I suggest tipping generously and the asking for different alcohol selections. Your mileage may vary, but I think you will get the same results we did.

  A small tip is that towels do not need to be checked out from the suite sun deck. You can only get there with your Seapass card so it is always open. It is a great perk to no have to worry about where your towels are when you are wandering around the ship, so take advantage.

Free clothes pressing on first formal night. Have to provide the garments in the morning by, I think 9:30am, and they will have them back by 5pm.

You can order from the Main dining room menus to eat in your room if you wish. During normal dining room hours.

For the most part, the Concierge can do anything that Guest Services can do...so if you have any "issues" usually the Concierge can help resolve it.  Caveat is that some Concierges are better at these types of things than others.  ...so always try the Concierge first if you have a bogus charge on your Seapass account or need to make a change on a ship-sponsored excursion but don't be surprised if you end up having to go to GS or the Excursions desk anyway.  Hopefully you'll get lucky.

Which ship?  You can contact your concierge by ship code, example (Harmony is HM_concierge01@rccl.com).   Liberty would be LB_concierge01@rccl.com.

i know on Oasis, the Suite Lounge is right next to Coastal Kitchen. Do you have to get your own drinks before you go into dinner? Or will the servers get them for you during your meal?

Waiters can get your drinks

Never mind just found this in another chat

Everyone knows that Royal Caribbean assigns each ship a two-letter identifier.  ("ship code")

It is used in email addresses, booking invoices, and many other ways.

AD = Adventure

AL = Allure

AN = Anthem

BR = Brilliance

EN = Enchantment

EX = Explorer

FR = Freedom

GR = Grandeur

HM = Harmony

ID = Independence (don't say "IN" - that's Celebrity's Infinity)

JW = Jewel

LB = Liberty

MA = Mariner

MJ = Majesty

NE = Empress (her original name was Nordic Empress)

NV = Navigator

OA = Oasis

OV = Ovation

QN = Quantum

RD = Radiance

RH = Rhapsody

SC = Spectrum

SR = Serenade

SY = Symphony

VI = Vision

VY = Voyager

That list brings a tear to my eye, since it includes ships that are now gone forever.  😞
