When will countries drop the Covid testing and mandates?

It seems to be happening piecemeal. Some European countries have already dropped the pre-arrival testing requirements altogether. France has, for example:

Now as to when our own CDC drops the testing requirement before coming home... I have no idea. If they are anything like the other government agency that I work for - it will take decades.

I would still hope the cruise lines continue to require testing, vaccination and possibly masking for a few more months even as governments back-off.  There’s now an Omicron variant  - BA.2 that just doubled in the US, has taken over as the prevalent strain in multiple countries and has caused a surge in Denmark.  Sounds so familiar unfortunately.  We can hope it all ends soon but that doesn’t mean it should end.
