Platinum and Elite Lounge

We were on the 10 Dec and 20 Dec Enchanted cruise.  They actually had some interesting and tasty bites of food besides the normal snack food - shrimp, tartare, cheeses, veggie sticks.  I remember there were meatballs, chicken and a few other finger type food served in tiny dipping-like bowls.  Got on the Emerald 4 weeks later and the PES offerings were the standard ones that have been served forever.

We are on the Enchanted for a 10-day cruise about to end.  We were given an 8x11 sheet of paper with the times for the PES lounge, wine tasting and Captain's Circle Party.  The PES lounge is open from 4:30 to 6:30 every night except the night of the Captain's Circle party.  There is a smack table set up with different offerings all served by the staff (no self-service) but no advance notice of what is offered.  One night they had the boiled shrimp which I love but just happened to be there that night.  There are no discounted drinks offered.   Most though have the Plus package so all the alcoholic drinks are included (less than $15 I believe).

We are on the Enchanted Princess later this year. Where was the Platinum and Elite lounge on your cruise?

Vista lounge.

They didn't serve anything you couldn't order in the DR.

I suppose if you were going to take advantage of the discounted drink it might be worth it but since most people had the Plus Package they didn't attend. You might as well get a drink in the DR and order an appetizer so you can eat it while seated.

My feeling is that they might do away with the Platinum and Elite lounge some day altogether unless the attendance increases when the ships fill up.

If we're traveling with a couple who is not Platinum or Elite, can they come with us to the lounge?

Before we were Platinum, we were allowed in as guests of friends sailing in a suite.  In January on Regal, we brought SIL and DN with us every night, nobody was even checking medallion colors.  Technically, I don't think non PES passengers are allowed in the lounge but it's worth a try.

Sometimes it is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to get permission.  😉

Ok I must be missing something.  We have been platinum for awhile and have never gotten any card in our cabin.  We’ve been missing out.

On your next cruise, go see the Loyalty and Events Manager (Captain Circle Hostess).  We've been on the Caribbean, Enchanted and Emerald since cruising resumed and have not received the  card showing the dates with the main snack item served on each day.  These used to be in our cabin when we got there.  Have heard the L&E Manager tell people they were not doing this anymore. No idea if her statement was correct or not.

One embarkation day, we did get a paper with the place and times, but they haven’t listed the food, like they did precovid.

We have attended a few times over the years - but the drink specials are never anything we'd care for, and I really don't need a snack on my way to dinner - so mostly we pass on it unless we are with friends who want to meet up there.  We have had them all over the ships (different venues) and the last few we did get a card in the cabin - but this was pre-Covid.

Is this on all ships? We sailed on Regal in October and are platinum but didnt know this was avaliable.

Should be one on each ship.  Ask the Loyalty and Events Manager (Captain Circle Host/Hostess) where it will be set up.  Check this link to see other benefits for Platinum

On Regal, it is usually in Club 6 (next to the casino) and usually starts around 4:30.

On Grand Class ships that have a Skywalker's it is usually there.  (that's where the great views are...)

The lounge is usually closed the day they have the Captain's Circle party.  You should have gotten either a card in your cabin on embarkation day, or it could be on a sheet of paper listing other events as well.  On your next cruise, ask at either the Captain's Circle desk or Passenger Services desk.  In my opinion, these lounges are generally sparsely attended but the good part of that is a shorter line at the snack table.  😉

Every time we have gone, it is busy!  Sometimes hard to find a seat even in Skywalker's....at least pre-covid.  Even on the Sky earlier this year, it was well attended but not really crowded but we only had a total of about 1300 passengers on board.

Will be on the Majestic in Dec. Are kids allowed? Just wanted to bring them in for a look see since I was told PES is held in the Hollywood, a usually Adults only area. All of us including the kids are plat.

Currently on Majestic for transpacific to LA then to Vancouver to start Alaska season.

The PES event is being held in Vista Lounge, deck 7 aft.

I can't see why not. As long as they're not being served alcohol there's no reason.

The hollywood conservatory is an adults only venue. However, I have heard of it being used a PE lounge event. All good, I will go with the flow. Thanks.

I didn't realize that.

Perhaps it might limit children at night except when used as a PE lounge.

Let us know how it works out.
