Of course, as it aways is, I’m up extremely early because I could not sleep very well.  I usually do not have any problem staying asleep but last night, really hard to go down and stay down.

Of course, I check to see where Enchantment is.

I am pretty much packed.  I don’t want to finish our last minute stuff yet because I’ll wake the wife.  So i’ll just watch TV with the little boy.

This is Dobby, the little boy i will be leaving behind.

This will be the first time mommy and daddy will be leaving him together for any length of time.

What kind of dog is Dobby? The hair on his head reminds me of a Chinese Crested.  Hope he handles his doggie vaca well.

I think Dobby suspects something is amiss.

Dobby is believed to be a chihuahua yorkie mix. Thats what the rescue claims.  I have not spend the 150 bucks for a DNA test yet.

Woah.  The MDR on Enchantment is open for lunch for everyone on embarkation day!!!!1F123CE0-AF9E-4433-BB1A-5E157DBD897B.thumb.jpeg.2f9c78e7ae8255408b410a2e5ec56d41.jpeg

I wish I knew if that was the case for 2 April as we have Chops booked so we dont' have to deal with the WJ.  Can you find out if that's a permanent change?

They say yes, at least for this ship.  They say the WJ is too small to accommodate everyone at once so they started this only a couple cruises ago.

So, this is effectively the boarding time from door to ship minus 5 minutes.  I didn’t stop the timer right away.

For the first time ever in my years of cruising, I was stopped by the security screening.  They spotted “something” and they took me aside and asked if i would open my bag.  I asked what they were looking for.  @death_star said i was stopped for coffee smuggling.  Nope.  Security guy was like why you have all this coffee.  Told him cruise coffee sucks.  Anyways, he said “i’m looking for a round container”. I was like “dude, everything in here is round, can you be more specific?”. “ nope.

After rummaging through my entire bag, This was the culprit.  5E25BF43-4F33-4522-96D2-77D257FAB8F6.thumb.jpeg.fcf8a26d529fcbcc87d64cc75bc7c480.jpeg

Apparently, they thought my filter cap was drug paraphernalia.  This was screwed on too.

Already an adventure boarding.

Its 1:35 and the rooms are not ready yet.  So, I’ll just add the lunch photos.

This was Scallops, but i got excited because it looks exactly like the escargot which if you’ve followed me before, I love love love.

The scallops were tiny, but yummy.

Next up is the Short Ribs.

And lastly, simple Cheesecake which they offer every night.

Now that I know you know where the MDR is, next time you are there, would you please find the number of the large round 10 top, on the platform at the base of the staircase, on the Ladies Room side?  It's just to the right and up the little ramp when you walk in.  Many thanx!

As some of you know, my belief is that the one major flaw of all the cruises i’ve taken is that the coffee is bad across-the-board. Princess, Celebrity, Carnival and royal Caribbean are the same.

on my last cruise on the Brilliance, I may have perfected my experiment with the aeropress. So we have packed two of them as well as coffee. I am not willing to bring a grinder on board for fear of losing it. So I do the unthinkable. I have pre-ground my coffee. As any real coffee drinker can tell you, You’re supposed to grind your beans right before you brew it.  But because I can’t I have to pregrind it.

I am mathed this out.  Ideally my wife and I will drink 2 cups of coffee per day. Since today does not count, And the last day we can delay coffee as we are disembarking, I need supplies for 44 cups of coffee.

That’s a lot of coffee. This is in fact more than a pound of coffee I am bringing with us.

Totally relate to this!  I always thought the coffee onboard tastes like it  is made with used filters

So I did a thing.  Because it was taking way longer than usual for the rooms to be ready.  I booked another cruise.

GREENLAND, HERE WE COME!!!

And we got a free bottle of champagne for booking on the first day.

Oh, and the count onboard is said to be about 1480, thats 65% occupancy of full double occupancy or 54% full total occupancy.

And this is my official first cruise drink.  Frozen mudslide.

Wow! Is that the one in September on Jewel? Love the look of that one but the timing doesn't work for us.

yup.  Good price too.  Also for me, I can visit Greenland without getting on a plane.  Bayonne is about 3 1/2 hours drive for us.

Very cute!  He looks to have some Scottish terrier in him. Maybe papillion with those ears?

Dobby is very smart.  As the ship became visible from the highway, he started barking furiously and frantically.  He knew we were leaving him for a bit.    This was before we even got into the port.
