Casino Blackjack rules

I don't gamble.  Husband sometimes plays a bit of blackjack/21 for fun depending on how casino structures the game.   First time on Princess and curious about boat "rules",  so would appreciate any comments on the following:

1) what the typical minimum &  maximum bet dollar amounts  might be in Princess ship casinos,

2) do table limits vary by time of day,

3) does dealer use a multi-deck shoe,  hand shuffle a couple decks together, etc.

4) does blackjack pay out at 3 to 2 or 6 to 5?

Will be on the Majestic and Grand, if it makes a difference.  Thanks!

My notes from the casino on our November 2020 cruise, before the Covid shutdown:  Royal Princess.

Blackjack $25 minimum.  This table pays 3 to 2.  Dealer must hit soft 17.  You can double down after split.

They have "Fun 21" but I did not take any notes other to note that they had a table.

Six dollar minimum blackjack:  Payout is 6 to 5.  Continuous shuffle.   Most of the people put the sixth dollar onto some bonus bet, that is why the casino demands the $6 minimum.  If you bet $6 as your base bet, this brings the 6-5 payout to 7 for 6.  You need to be petting $10 to meet the minimum and not mess your blackjack payout up even more than 6-5!  Which is why I was usually on the $25 table.

Regular BJ table is $6 minimum and pays 6 to 5. Continuous shuffle

Fun 21 ... similar to Spanish 21...is $6 minimum and pays 3 to 2.  Hand shuffled shoe

On the last cruise we were on the Majestic the minimum play on BJ was $10.

I used to be the same, but unless you play higher stake tables than I'm accustomed to, it's become very difficult to find 3:2 tables.  So I've resigned myself to accepting 3:2 - the odds are a little worse, but as they say "the cards have always been stacked against you".

The minimum and maximum bet amounts in ship casinos can vary, but they usually cater to a wide range of players. Table limits might fluctuate based on the time of day, with higher limits during peak hours. As for the dealer, it's common to find multi-deck shoes rather than hand shuffling.

any one know what the rules are for the Blackjack Tournament ?

We have an entry for the cruise next week.

Have they started the tournaments again?  We have not seen any BJ tournaments since before Covid-  Our last cruise was 21 days in June 2023.

It's high time they started up again, but we had none on two ships last Fall.

I refuse to play 6/5 blackjack. On my June Alaskan cruise the casino was almost always dead/empty and I felt no motivation to give it a shot. A few hard core slots players were working the machines and looked like they were enjoying their time, but I did not see many who appeared to be casual players. Tables seemed like more dealers than players.

Try a VIP casino cruise you will find card tables at least 75% foully and usually over 15 people crowded around the craps table. Slots pretty busy as well probably 60% full but agree very few casual players

As for the blackjack payout, the standard is 3 to 2, but it's always good to double-check with the specific ship's rules. Though I mostly visit betting sites, I used to play casinos a lot, so that must help you. Good luck!
