First-time Celebrity--what is procedure for selecting boarding time online?

Hello--thank you for all your help.  I read snippets of being allowed to select a boarding time in advance--what is the procedure for that, how many days out, we'll be using a computer, not a smart phone, etc.  Thank you!  Looking forward to our first Celebrity cruise.

When check in becomes available on line, the times will pop up after you sign in. Usually that is 45 days before boarding.

You go to On-Line CheckIn either on your PC or Smart Phone.   After you enter your information the next section is where you select your boarding time.

To get the earliest times you need to do this checkin as early as possible on the day it opens 45 days out.

I wish that were always the case.   Our April 21 Cruise opened for CheckIn exactly 45 days but as of this morning they still have not made the CheckIn time available.      It may have to do with it being the first sailing of the season out of Southampton. 

 

When you press the Arrival Time -  It responds "Not Quite Ready for You"  Come back closer to cruise date.

On the Celebrity app it says check in opens March 29. Should I try on the 28th right after midnight to get the best time?

You could probably wait until the next morning and still get the first checkin slot.   I've checked in a couple days after they opened and still got a 11:30 slot.      If you don't get the time you want check back as they often open up additional slots

Last summer, I had to download the App to select a check in time, even though I had done the majority of the check in on my Lap Top..

Thank you 12cruise2 for asking this question.  We will be sailing X for the first time in May (3* on Holland) and I assumed boarding times would be assigned like they are on Holland. I like that I can choose a time.  Thank you cruise critic members for being willing to share info with "newbies".

Celebrity says they will e-mail me when I can check in. . . .I assume I do it as soon as I see the email, to get a boarding time?

Our check-in opened a couple of days ago, but so far none of us received email.  Therefore better to look periodically.

Am I the only person who removes the Celebrity app from their smart phone between cruises so that I won't be depressed when I see it and DON'T have a cruise currently booked.
