Cash instead of promo chips ($25) for Platinum/Diamond on recent sailing

On Carnival, in the past (since restart), we've received $25 in promo chips as a benefit for Platinum/Diamond guests owing to the lack of a Blackjack tournament.

So, it surprised me on our 3/11 sailing when we were given cash at the cage instead. Is this now the case across the fleet, or just a ship specific thing?

THANKS,

Tom

On our cruise in March, they applied it to my Casino bank

I think each ship is different. What ship are you on?

I guess that would help the conversation!  Liberty

I'll see if they're still handing out the cash on Friday.

What would people prefer? Cash/chips or a free tournament entry?

I know that I'd prefer cash/chips if given the option. But I know the tournaments are popular with a lot of cruisers.

I much prefer the cash over a tournament entry which, if memory serves, had basically become a BOGO prior to COVID as opposed to the free tournament entry which it was initially. But, again, who knows - that might have been ship specific too !!

First cruise since restart coming up in May on Splendor.  How does this work?  How do you get the $25?  Does it appear on your sail and sign card?  Do you have to ask for it?  Do all Platinum/Diamond guests get it?
