We have a PVP and she is awesome.  Most importantly, we no longer have to sit on hold for hours trying to connect to an agent.  One call to our PVP and she gets back to us with the answers or the changes we requested.  She usually answers immediately, but sometimes I leave a voicemail message.

If Princess offers a new promo or price reduction, she gets it done.  If something goes wrong, she takes care of it on our behalf.  Life has become so stress free with her in our corner.  I wish I could give you her name, but Cruise Critic does not allow us to share travel agents or PVPs.

I have heard many people say this...but I was not able to find a CC policy that actually states this.  I'm not disputing it...would just like to see the source.

You will have to search for this in the Cruise Critic rules.  Folks have tried numerous times to share this info, but their post gets deleted immediately.

Yes...but where are these rules?  I'm obviously looking in the wrong places!

Guidelines

 

Travel Agent Recommendations

There shall be no third-party recommendation (whether positive or negative in content) of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. General discussions regarding the TYPE of AGENCY to be used to purchase a cruise will be allowed, as long as no recommendations for any source of purchase are posted.

Touting of your personal cruise agent or cruise line "personal cruise consultant" (or any other venue by which you purchase a cruise) is not allowed on our message boards. Postings that contain "tell them John sent you" will be removed without notice.

This means you should not ask about someone's travel agent, nor should you respond in kind. Offering to email someone your travel agent's name or info is also not allowed, nor is asking members to email you for the information.

Cruise Critic will remove violations of the "third-party recommendation" guideline without warning. Additional posts may result in permanent suspension of your posting privileges.

This is a question that I have always watched the answers.  My experience overall have not been positive when it comes to TAs and I have tried more that once.  As far as PVPs I have tried them on multiple cruise lines with very little success UNTIL this last time I actually got a Princess PVP that was responsive and helpful what a nice change.  I will continue to use this PVP.  I guess the bottom line is you either handle it yourself or keep trying until you finally find that right fit.  Good luck.

 

on a side note right now things are so fluid it is like riding a roller coaster so don’t hold your breath because it is going to most likely change AGAIN LOL.  😀😃😂

The first PVP I was assigned to, quit before I could use her.  I found out when I contacted Princess because she wasn’t responding to emails or phone calls.  

 

The second PVP was completely useless.  When I contacted Princess to request a new one they had the useless one call to ask what’s up!!  

 

By pure coincidence I happened upon the 3rd PVP (he’d been assigned to my parents but I was doing the bookings) and he is worth his weight in gold.  I had to send a written request to have him assigned to me.  I would recommend speaking with people at your Meet and Greet.  Good luck in your quest.

I have used PVP in the past, but in the last 6 months have twice gotten notice from new PVP's that they are my new contact. Have not used the last one as of yet. I guess the bottom line is everything is up for change at a moments notice.

Interesting, I had a PVP that was absolutely wonderful and used her for many years and many cruises however, since November 2021 I have sent numerous emails to her address at Princess have called her phone extension with her lovely message that she will get back to me and after multiple tries email and phone the last one asking her to please let me know if she no longer wished to be our agent and have had exactly ZERO replies. So I asked on the website to be contacted by an Agent that was in December and have had ZERO reply. I understand that things are strained during these past 2 years but as an Elite with over 50 Princess Cruises I would have expected at least a reply. I finally had to resort to Live Chat to get my 9 bookings sorted out and they were very helpful. Took me from early Feb (fax) until last week to finally get my Shareholders Benefits applied. My next booking will not be through Princess and may not even by with  Princess as I have several other ships with loyalty status.

 

Just my experience and my two cents worth. Happy Cruising everybody !!

I agree 100%. If we are on the Princess CC site and want to get a recommendation for a Princess PVP what difference does it make and who exactly does it hurt DUH!!!!

FYI - I sent some "site feedback" asking that the PM feature be reinstated...suggest that anybody else who agrees do the same.  Maybe if enough people request it we might get some action.  Link is at the bottom of the "Categories" page.

I had a PVP "concierge" help me with an issue on Friday that my regular PVP couldn't handle.  The concierge told me that there were 10 of them and that they'd been "promoted" from regular agents and were supposed to help with the most difficult situations.  She couldn't give me here extension because you're still supposed to go through your regular PVP, and they then escalate issues to the concierge level.

 

I got a very satisfactory resolution to my issue using the concierge.

Repeated postings with this theme lead me to believe that Princess is doing a bad job deleting emails and phone extensions after employees leave the company.

Thanks Steelers36, that could well be the problem. 

Kind of strange her phone line and extention would still be operational as I have been trying for over 4 months but I guess anything is possible right now.

Longing for cruising and hope May settles down for Alaska Cruise.
