Personal Cruise Consultant?

Recommended Posts

I've had the same pcc for the past couple of sailings and it's been a good experience.

I drive the train with what I want and how I want it and she's been very responsive helping me and the others that I sail with.

I check pricing after I book, at least once a week and when I've found lower pricing all I've had to do is email her and it's done.

For my sailing in June on Joy, I found lower pricing and she helped me upgrade a couple of levels for virtually the same price and we were all happy.

I would imagine that I'm one of the lucky ones that has a good pcc.

I have to say, I must be a lucky one as well.   If I call my PCC mid morning, I hear back from her before lunch at the latest.  The last few calls have been returned within 30min.  Very good experience with her.

I'd like to find a TA that gives a good discount plus excellent service.  So far it's been "the better the discount the worse the service".

Look for a TA that's an owner operated small business.

I would share my TA but CC rules prohibit.  I found her when someone on CC mentioned her by name.

One good source for TA recommendations are fellow travelers.  Don't pass up an opportunity to ask others on a cruise who they use.

I have sailed on over 15 cruises with NCL and have never used a PCC. Always book direct. Book excursions, dinner reservations etc online.

I have never had issues with anything I have booked through NCL...the odd question I have had was always answered by whoever answered the phone.

So can I ask what you need a PCC to do for you? (and I am being nice when I ask this).

I have dealt with my PCC since my original booking for a cruise back in April 2020. She helped me rebook the same cruise twice, both times upgrading due to cancelled cruise bonuses (all the way up to Haven level). She helped me with our last cancellation when my father got sick and suddenly passed and helped me navigate the travel insurance claim (successfully). And now we are trying a 4th attempt to cruise... putting up with my stresses and anxiety. She always answers her phone or calls me back within 24 hours. I really lucked out. Never had a TA who has helped this much

My new pcc (prior one got promoted) perked up once I went out of my way to book something through him.  Prior to that he hadn't been overly enthusiastic about making changes to existing bookings where he probably didn't get credit.

One thing I've learned is that if you go to book online, do a mock booking and then pay through your pcc - that way they get the credit for the booking.  I'm more than happy to do it that way if it helps get me better service.  Kinda like tipping your room steward I guess!

Same!  I like to do things in writing so I send an email and just let him know what I need and if that need has a deadline - works like a charm.  He is awesome (even better than the guy that got promoted before him).

We have a cruise booked on the Prima Feb 2023. Our PCC quit and now we are in limbo as no one is looking after us. I have called the customer service and explained the situation on two different occasions and sent many emails and have had no replies. We are leaving from Toronto (YYZ) using NCL feee 2 guest air fare and want to fly in the day before the cruise as we were told we could stay two days b4 the cruise and up to 2 days after the cruise, We are concerned that our reservation will slip through the cracks and we will not get in the day before the cruise. Does anyone have ant suggestions?

After I booked two cruises last summer, someone called me and told me they were my PCC, but I had no clue what that meant and didn't write down his name/number (I was out on a walk I think). I have no clue how to find out that information - looked through my profile online and didn't find anything. I tried calling NCL and they said that no one is assigned to me, so I asked to get one, but that was two weeks ago and I haven't heard anything.

So, how do I get a PCC for future cruises?

Many years ago I had a PCC that I worked with for almost 10 yrs and he was so good that he got promoted to manager.

Since then, I've not had a steady PCC and I've gotten accustomed to doing my bookings direct with NCL online.

However only in the last year I've had to contact NCL to complete my booking because I can no longer chose my cabin number. I don't like this at all and wish NCL would list the open cabin numbers like before.

Call the main number and ask them to confirm that your requested deviation is listed on your booking. Have them send you something in writing indicating it and you'll be fine.

The only time I've not been able to see other available cabin numbers with the new website is if a particular type of cabin is sold out except for the one room they assigned me. Otherwise it will have a link where you can view the other choices.

Clicking that will bring you to another view where you can see them on the deck plan and make your selection.

Does anyone else find their Personal Cruise Consultant really hard to work with? I’m not going to give names but mine never answers my calls, barely ever calls back (if they do it’s when I can’t answer the phone due to work), and overall is not very helpful. I try to call the generic NCL phone number but they always end up diverting my call to my Personal Cruise Consultant even though I ask to talk to someone else..

I have not had this issue with any other cruise line in the past.

Any tips or has anyone gotten their Personal Cruise Consultant changed before?

We are having a hell of a time right now. We are trying to get our FCC from the Escape applied and all they keep doing is making our cruise fare lower but not equal to the credit. We have made many attempts to get a new person but to no avail. Once this situation is figured out and this cruise is done we will probably not use NCL again. Sick of the horrible customer service. Sailed many times with many cruise lines and NEVER had this experience.

I did click the link but it only gave me the option to select a different cabin category and not a different cabin number. Will try this again. thanks,

Finally got all credits, FCC applied and booked our August cruise on the Epic out of Rome. Can't wait to go! Still think this will be the last time we sail with Norwegian though. At least using the phone for sure.

We have the best PCC.  I can reach her by phone, email and text and she gets back to me right away!  If I call and don't leave a message for some reason, I get a call back anyway.  She is always so upbeat, warm and friendly.  She knows everything about all the ships.  I have recommended her to all my friends sailing on NCL.

You are so lucky.  We are on our 3rd TA and he is terrible.  He doesn't respond back to emails for days unless I also text or call him.  He works under a big agency that is supposed to monitor cruise price drops but they don't do that.  When there is a change to be made he acts like he always has to call NCL but after talking with NCL he should be able to use the NCL TA portal to make the changes.  We are going to try to get a PCC.  Can you send me your PCC contact info or do people get one assigned by NCL?

I think my PCC finds me hard to work with. I never answer her calls, or reply to her emails 😞

Unfortunately, the rules here on these boards prohibit the sharing of any PCC or TA names. Not sure why... and it's very frustrating. Best bet is to make friends on your next sailing and ask them for recommendations. That's how I got the name of our PCC, and I have her contact info saved to share with whoever asks for it.

I have a very nice PCC that I usually deal with.  I usually have done all my homework before I call, and it has always come out the same with him booking or if I were to book direct from the site.  But since I'm his favorite customer 😄 , I usually go with him.  That being said, this weekend I decided to book my own last minute cruise and found it to be easy.

My husband and I  just had this conversation and did call the main number but spoke with a cruise specialist but did help us work out the problems that our former PCC created.  We had given ample time for him to respond to try and work everything out but he did not respond to our email telling him that we were not too happy.  So we have one more booked through this PCC and then we will find another or go with a travel agent.  We have had him for several years and like some above he would call during times when we could not take the call.  An answer to an email is so much easier than trying to connect via phone it seems.  Glad we weren't the only one and kudos to those of you that have a great one.

I have an Alaska sailing for this September, my brother and his wife made a reservation and my wife and I made a reservation. Somewhere along the way the signals got crossed and we did not end up on the same deck. No biggie we both booked through NCL so it should be easy to get one of us moved to the same deck as the other. I was even willing to upgrade cabin categories if that was necessary. Right after I booked I got an email last week from someone saying there were my  new PCC. I replied to the email and left a phone message and got no response. Yesterday I asked my brother for the name and number of his PCC. I called it and she picked up on the 2nd ring and took care of what I needed done.

Our current PCC stopped communicating with us after we had to reschedule a cruise during the COVID lockdowns.  Now we cannot get her to answer emails or her phone.  Real drop in standards as our previous PCCs were excellent.  So depressing that we cannot talk to her or work with her to book stuff

I had 3 experiences within the past 2 days:

NCL...with PCC....e-mailed him, he called me back in less than 5 minutes.  Booked a cruise for 6/5...took just a couple of minutes to complete

MSC...I a cruise booked for a4/29/2023.  There was a price drop, called to claim it.  The rep was perplexed...her boss was going to put in a ticket for the adjustment (which would take 2 weeks)....so I canceled and will probably rebook close to sailing.  They are i;mpossible.

Carnival...with TA.  Price dropped yesterday (only one cabin in that category available so the  adjustment had to be done fast).  Didn't hear back...called again.  Didn't hear back...called today and got another agent.  He did the adjustment without a problem.

PCC wins!

Chances are pretty high that she no longer works for NCL, although I would expect that if you sent an email it would come back as unknown recipient.
