Freestyle cup

If we never used ours on March cruise, we can use it in May? Would it have been activated with the Freestyle machine?

I used mine for water in our stateroom, my husband's is still in the shrink-wrap.

Many people have reported that if it was never activated at a machine then you can activate it on your next sailing and it will work at the machines

An "activated" cup (meaning one you used in a Freestyle machine) can be used for about two weeks after which it should stop working - the design doesn't matter, the chip in the bottom of the cup determines that. To your original question, the design/look of the cups can change between ships and in time.

Are they activated once you receive it or when it's used on the machine?  I know I've gotten one before at Universal Studios and it's activated when you purchase it to work for however long it's been purchased for.

Hmmm... thinking we could give away some... maybe find some kids who look like they want one lol! We have the refreshment package again, and used everything except the Freestyle machine last time.

The last time I was I sailed on Royal Caribbean and got the deluxe drink package, I don’t think I ever got my freestyle cup. I was more concerned with the alcoholic drinks. This time I’ll make sure I’m able to get them all, but when and where do you get the freestyle cups?  Will they already be in our cabin, or will we have to get them from somewhere?

On all of our post-restart cruises, the cups were not in the room. You could go to any bar and they will get one for you and update your on board account to show that you picked it up.

isn't the cup you get with the drink package the freestyle cup. I always get a cup one but never use the freestyle machine

I think that is the reason they stopped putting them in cabins because not everyone used them. Seems like a smart decision to give them out only to the passengers who use them.

Tried using inactivated on a gew days ago on Symphony and machine didn't recgnize it.  Old style and bartender checked cruise card.  Current style this ship is one with ship names down side.  Have used unopened cups in past but not this time.  Cup is good for 14 days so don't think I need new one next cruise but will use old one if I don't drop it.  Still have package just don't need another cup.

I usually wait to buy the soft drink package on board. Last time on the Allure, they had a table set up by the Windjammer that would sell you the package. They had the cups right there.

We will be on Allure on May 8, are you on this cruise? We may have two extra cups...

To get a larger cup of soda from a freestyle machine and not wait at a bar for a small cup

Agree! On Jewel 2 of last 3 weeks they were giving out 2 different styles. One the same hard plastic, other was larger like get at Amusement Park and had a Straw. Was about 50-50 from what I observed. Miss the ones from 8-10yrs ago that could put Hot or Cold drinks in them, also it sealed tight

We always get the Soda package on Royal ships (that have a Freestyle machine).  We used to get one for each half of a b2b until we realized that the first leg cup worked for both halves in the machines.  Now we just get it for the first leg and use it for both.  If we need a soda from a bar the second week, we either use a D+ credit or get it in the casino(all prime or above) or pay the fee.
