We had a few Senior Olympics Athletes at our hotel also.

8:22, and our muster drill is complete, other than visiting the muster station as soon as we board.  Our station is at the Champagne Bar, so I am guessing they will not be open for drinks then.

Happy cruise day!

The drink vouchers might be a good idea and a way to prevent guests from bringing friends to happy hour for free drinks.  The last time we stayed there (maybe 5 years ago?) we bypassed HH went to the beach area for dinner/drinks.  When we came back just before HH ended, the entire Embassy lobby looked like a fraternity party after midnight.  There were empty cups and plates everywhere, spilled drinks/food, and many people who were very obviously "happy".  Combined with the state of our room and the poor front desk service, we decided that we were done with that place.  Good to hear that things are better as I really do like Embassy Suites in general and that one in particular is very convenient.

I'm guessing the bar will be open.  There will just be a crew member standing near your muster station sign who will scan your seapass.  Drinks and muster check in all at the same place!

It depends when they go to muster. I think the Champagne Bar used to have a bit of a later opening time. For some reason 2PM sticks in my head but I could be wrong. That was my evening go to place.

Just checked, and it is open at 11 am today (our boarding time).

Two checking areas.

11am line quite long. Not getting in yet.

and

Suite line.
Few  in line.

Port is empty.  No crowds  walked in suite door. Showed COVID vaccine cards. Negative COVID test. Passport and boarding pass.

Next person checked us in. Waiting upstairs behind STAR guest to board.

In suite lounge.

First concern

Line to windjammer on pool deck. REALLY

TSK TSK.

POOR PLANNING.

I think the handwashing station is the bottleneck.  Once through there, you should be fine.

Not many people at Solarium Bistro.  No waiting, and it is now self serve.

A few of their food choices.

Fruit for a healthy start.

By the way, we met Sue and Rick.  They are a nice couple, but anyone on Dani’s thread knows that already.

Well the wait was worth it to enter the infamous WIND JAMMER. Only 1-2 people rushing and scurrying to fill two plates at one time.   I do not try to take pictures of any body because I would want to be treated with same respect. But these 2 deserved it. But I was kind. And let them pass.
And they were both little.

Waited our turn had a well prepared BBQ chicken piece, tomatoes and Waldorf salad.

For dessert had a piece of Oreo cheese cake.  Yummy.

The display cake for our sailing is beautiful.
Well done.

Following along!  Must be something new with the Binax tests because we both set up Navica accounts before we did our first ever test…and of course logged in with our passwords four times since.

That has exactly been our experience too.

Clarification

Someone had recently posted on a thread that they did not care for the crown loft suites because the lights on the stairs remain on.

Not true.

They go

off

and

I think that was record time. Although I was highly upset that they didn’t open the doors to cabins til 1:01, when the sign said 1:00.

Walked to our cabin, and our as yet undamaged new blue suitcases were already there.

By 1:33, both cases unpacked and everything in its place.  Of course, it helps when you pack everything on hangers.

Our suit cases were  a couple cabins down. But we found them.

Unpacked. Relaxing for a little.

It was so nice to meet Mark and Susan. I mean we’re practically neighbors back home.

Dinner tonight in CK.

If anyone is looking for us we can be found here.

So we had a little excitement today. As we were driven to port we saw a classy cruise ship ( liner) as we went by.

If you look closely behind the crane that ship is the

Queen Mary.

WOW

Poor picture does not do it justice.
But it is the best we can do.

I was just about to post the show schedule, have booked everything for the week no problems getting times I wanted. Had 1pm boarding time, was a little busy but took 25 minutes to board. It seemed that some people kept putting their phones away and were not used to finding documents on them.

Went to solarium for lunch food was good 👍

Was there a lot of availability for reservations or were things getting booked up?

We were booking our shows by 11:30am. And we could not get Mama Mia. ?????????

So we are going to ask the concierge what that is about. Unless they do not take reservations. But they keep telling you on the APP. To make your reservations.

We got all our other first choices.

I have to see what’s going on.

I’ll update.
