How soon is the information on terminal / pier information available for ports of call?

How much information is given ahead of time regarding the terminal/pier/etc that the ship will dock at? How soon is it posted? For example we sail in early July - when would that information typically available? That info is helpful for planning transport for third party excursions/transport for example. I've never cruised before so I'm not sure what to expect in this area. Obviously some ports are larger than others, so it matters more in some ports than others.

When you arrive at the port. You can check the individual port websites for information.

Don't worry about private tours, they will find you.

nevertheless, things can and do change at the last minute. 
 

Search Google for “port authority city name” then browse their web site for cruise ship information. FYI…some port authorities know but do not publish. 

1025cruise is correct. Vendors will find you. Plus have their cell number handy  and call them if needed.

Reading your previous posts -- I believe you're on the Regal Princess which leaves from Barcelona on July 2^nd for a 21-day cruise.  Information which ships are in port can be found on the following web site:  cruisemapper.com. 

Example – Barcelona has 4 ships in port for that day (July 2^nd).   The ships are:  Regal Princess, Norwegian Epic, Celebrity Beyond and Costa Firenze with arrival and departure times.  

As previously stated, The Port Authority for each port should have the pier information.  Using Google Search should provide more info.  John

Also, helpful, general information can be found on the Princess website. Pull up your booking, look at the itinerary and click on the city like Barcelona general port information.  Usually, they will give you the website for port information too.

Luggage Handling
Prior to arriving at the pier, please attach a Princess luggage tag to all pieces of checked luggage in addition to your personal identification tag.
