Don't be surprised if you don't find an option to make reservations for Blu.  They have never in the past accepted reservations.  If they are now then it will be years for Celebrity IT to catch up.   I'd check once you get onboard.  I suspect if they were taking reservations in Blu it was an attempt to alleviate a situation on a particular sailing.

Hi,

Thanks, I called Celebrity about making reservations online for Blu. They told me to check with the Blu staff about making reservations after I board the ship.

Sorry, we did not go to any shows (we stayed away from crowds) but they had entertainment in the Rendezvous lounge each evening. It rotated between jazz trio (who was good and I don’t like jazz) and a trio who played mixed songs kind of hard to describe (probably because they were not very good).  They had a DJ playing in the area by al Bacio and of course a DJ by the pool. They had a string Duo playing in different areas. They had more things going on then my last cruise.  Hopefully others can tell you more.   I did post some dailies that you could look at to see some of the things that were going on.

I was on this sailing with my daughter, grandson, and granddaughter.  We had a good trip, even though I spent hours (yes hours) in the Guest Relations line. We had  two connecting cabins booked. They moved

one cabin on check in. The original room was available, but it took them until late afternoon on the second day to resolve that issue.  A manager asked why the guest services just didn’t move us back to original cabin.  I told him we were told it was unbookable due to a maintenance problem (there was none). He was great and solved the issue in minutes once he was aware of the issue. They offered to upgrade the second of the original booked rooms, but they had no available connecting cabins. They were swamped with angry passengers. Lots of unhappy passengers complaining about smoke smell in cabins, fumes of some type, hot rooms, poor service, etc. No Honest Iced tea or Arizona teas  onboard.

Our room attendant, Hera, was exceptional.

‘Abby and Damion from guest services did their jobs!

No matter what was wrong ,I felt  bad for the crew that were treated so badly by a lot of rude passengers.

I am glad things worked out for you and I agree people were pretty hard on the crew. I forgot to tell a story from my last night. There was a cabin 2 doors down that we had noticed as we walked by was always a mess. Clothes strewn all over and bottles and dishes everywhere. We weren’t stalkers but it is natural to peek at a room especially if it is different class than yours to see if it is something you would want to book.  Well, on the last night our poor cabin steward came out muttering in her native tongue and looked upset.  Later we saw them carting off sofa cushions, bedding etc. poor thing had to clean a trashed out room. I don’t know what happened to the guests. We were in a sky suite and I know this was at least a level up. It had double doors. They work so hard this was beyond what they should have to deal with.

Hi Chuck, One of the problems I have found with Celebrity is that sometime employees on the ships take things into their own hands. It is not the norm to make reservations in Blu or Luminae. Seems like the maitre d is doing their own thing. Our cruise in Aqua/Blu last year on Millie we showed up later than our normal time. We were given the pod that buzz's and the 4 us were seating after a short wait.

After board you could go and see if the Blu maitre d is at Blu. To see how the  maitre d is handling Blu dining. I would talk to the maitre d in Blu or Luminae if your party dining together is more than 4. Just a heads up for the maitre d.

What I have found is trying to show up about the same time for dinner each night will get you the same table and servers.

Hi,

I am booked on the Celebrity Infinity in an AquaClass stateroom for the cruise departing on September 3, 2022. I don't see an option to make reservations for Blu on the Celebrity website, but this hopefully will become available closer to my cruise.

Chuck

I am considering booking the AquaClass on Infinity but could tell what benefits it has over the Concierge class on these type ships?  Why did you select Aqua? TIA

If you ever have the chance to experience suite life on Edge, Apex, or Beyond do it!  That is where you see the BIG difference in pampering, day to day service, decor, offerings, etc.  I hate that Celebrity has not found a way to provide in the Retreat areas a small pool or hot tubs for the other ships.

I’m pretty sure there is a hot tub on the Retreat Sundeck on Silhouette.

Thank you so very much for the pictures of the loungers on the promenade deck and the library.  I see the chairs for smokers, with cushions.  On the Equinox, they had wooden chairs with cushions for the smoking area, and the same, hard wooden chairs on the other side, with no cushions!, for the non-smokers.  I see the library has some books.   Appreciate your taking the time.  Hope your cabin gets even cooler; we had to go through that on another brand's ship in April--kept working with them to get air, more air, more air.

Any idea what deck that is for the smokers? DH is a smoker and already not happy about no smoking in casino...I know there is an area outside of the Mastbar...wondering where those comfy chairs are...TIA

There is smoking on deck 4. I don’t remember if it is port or starboard. There are ashtrays and chairs. 3BCDBACA-1112-450E-A52F-726112D53B7F.thumb.jpeg.3619516b25493663b8b485edf0e06972.jpeg

Thanks so much!!! Life would be easier (and healthier) if he would quit but until then...places to smoke are always in my research. Thanks so much for your trip report...great info!! The A/C makes me nervous (as a Floridian, I know how miserable it is without it this time of year), but you have inspired me to be positive and have faith this will be an amazing trip (we are on the July 9th sailing). I have cancer and am not currently winning the battle so we just want to do as much as we can while we can 😉

Prayers for you. My husband and I had a wonderful cruise 3 months before he died. He was my inspiration to have a great attitude and make the most of each day.

My sister and her husband boarded yesterday after booking the cruise earlier this week.  Only had Oceanview window available and were really worried about the A/C issue.

I spoke with her today while they were in Key West and she said everything has been wonderful.  She went to guest services directly upon boarding to ask if she could pay to upgrade to a balcony. They did not have any available but took her info.  Also told her that A/C was a real problem last week but an independent company had boarded when they docked in FLL yesterday and worked on it all day.

Around 6, she got a call from same woman at guest services saying they had a concierge level balcony available and to please stay in room for a little bit. Within 30 minutes,  that woman showed up with new keys, housekeeping to help carry their bags and moved them to their new balcony room.  Best part, no additional cost!

Sister and husband said the Oceanview's room temperature was cool and the balcony is slightly warmer but still comfortable (and my sister runs hot). They said all the linens look newer and were told the carpet throughout main parts of ship are new.

They are used to mega ships (with their 6 and 9 yr old kids). Went in with lower expectations because of the older boat but said the staff and food have been great! They're keeping a positive attitude because their main goal this week is to just enjoy mom and dad time and some peace and quiet while I have the kids 😀

Hopefully this helps alleviate any nerves for cruisers traveling on Infinity soon!
