Insane deals from Seattle on Carnival Splendor to Alaska - Check your VIFP offers everyone!

Just booked 3 cruises b2b2b on the Splendor out of Seattle for next month: 8/2, 8/9 & 8/16.

Single cruiser, no supplement, all-in for all 3 cruises not even 7 C-notes after various obc's.

Just the port charges average around $250 per cruise!!!! It's come to the point where Carnival

is paying cruisers to go cruise with them now!!! I am Platinum for whatever that means but it

was not a casino offer, it was one of the "Exclsuive VIFP" bait but it sure pays to check your offers, guys.

For those who live in Seattle or those who are familiar with downtown Seattle:

1) From King Street Station to Pike Place Market area is it an easy/safe walk around 9-10pm?

2) From Pike Place Market to Pier 91 it seems to be an easy 1 mile walk along Alaskan Way. Am I correct?

Just me and myself, so-so able-bodied 59-year young guy with only 1 wheeled carry-on bag and plenty of time on my hands in Seattle. Downtown Seattle seems like a city conducive to walking but not quite sure about hills, ala San Francisco that may hamper my ability to get around. Flat terrain & downhill, I am all good.....uphill, well............! lol

Thanks for any replies from people with first-hand knowledge.

I've been seeing Alaska deals for a while now, even on other lines as well. Like less than 7 day cruises. Crazy good deals. Me thinks it's because the Alaska cruises are starting to be viewed as covid cruises. Too many reporting catching covid from spending more time inside on these colder cruises. Been reading some negative feedback from Alaska natives blaming the cruise ships on various news/social feeds and comment sections. Not sure if there is, in fact, a higher propensity for covid on an Alaska cruise but there seems to be some negative connotations connected anyhow, maybe that is what is leading to these deals. That and summer is also winding down, some may not want to do a longer 10 day and some may prefer warmer locals, though heat and humidity is unappealing to me. Who knows? On the upside, this will be a great opportunity for those looking to sail on Alaska cruises though.

DH and I both received some awesome offers for Alaska which is interesting since in 20 plus years of cruising, never once searched Alaska cruises (no interest what so ever).  Oh well, guess they are desperately trying to fill the Alaska schedule?  Good deals for someone, just not us.

We got an insane deal in my opinion!  Extended aft balcony for $317 pp with $200 onboard credit!  We are also platinum but I don’t think that has anything to do with it.

That is a smoking hot deal!

I sailed on the Splendor for 8 days in May for $125 solo plus port charges/taxes for an inside cabin.  I got similar offers for June and July, but airfare has increased from $ 300 for my May cruise to $1000 or more, so I passed.

Since you described yourself as a fit individual walking on his own with a single wheeled bag, I would say 'go for it' in terms of walking from Pike Place to Pier 91.  Best recommended option is to take the scenic walking/biking trail that starts at the outdoor sculpture park by Pier 70.  This will bring you to Pier 91, and then it will be another quarter mile walk to the terminal.  Just be aware that once you start the trail walk, you will will be on it until you get to the Pier 91 complex.

Thank you Ferry Watcher, fantastic info.

Much like there is an APP for everything, it seems the same can be said for YouTube.

Thoroughly enjoyed that short video.

When you get a great deal please post the three digit code.  I get bombarded with Carnival offers, and it is much easier to sort through them if I know what code is associated with the deal.   Thanks.

I know what you mean ..... it is annoying to do a mock booking with every online offer to see what your actual price is within that same offer...let alone try on 9-12 different "promotions" at the same time, most of which are hogwash. But once in a while! YAY!

I do not recall there were any 3 digit codes in any of my offers.

Alaska cruise market is kind of saturated right now with many cruise ships from different lines all going to the same ports. Some lines are even selling next year's spring Alaska cruises at a low NRD rate to entice early booking. Something seldom seen before Covid. Great for cruisers but bad for cruise lines.

Good for you!  Have fun!  I actually got a similar offer a couple of weeks ago for an interior guarantee.  I couldn't fit it into my schedule, so I had to decline.  Here's the thread and posts I did on it:

Did an NCL in May, and then Carnival was offering these crazy deals so I took my granddaughter. Just got back Thursday. Alaska is amazing. If you don’t think you will like it, well, I don’t think you understand the beauty. It is just jaw dropping. Anyhoo, I’d like to do a late July, but man-o-man, the fare for next year is over $4,000 for 2 in a balcony on the Spirit…..  Maybe they will come down. That’s just ridiculous.

Kona, if you are retired, don't book so far out.....I have been doing all my cruises last-minute. I would not commit that kind of money on a cruise that might end up costing only 10% of that sum by the time it is time to go. We all know that once you are out that money, it's gone. Book last, last, last minute, if you can.

This year I have done 8x Mexican Riviera 7-day cruises (4 on Princess, 2 on Carnival & 2 on Royal Caribbean) and I have these 3x Alaska 7-day cruises coming up on Carnival Splendor next month. 11 cruises for a total of $1700 including port charges/taxes/fees. My first 9-day cruise back in the early 70s cost me TWICE as much as these 11 cruises.....although cruises were a totally different experience than they are today, and  I mean TOTALLY different!
