Celebrity Zenith member as an Azamara Newbie :)

It was originally called Michaels club on Celebrity cruises and has recently been re-named "The Retreat Lounge".  It is a lounge solely for the use of suite guests.   You have personal concierges on call most days who can check your account issue new keys, obtain dining reservations etc.   There is no need to line up at a front desk for anything.   They also serve continental breakfast and High tea every afternoon with fresh baked scones and clotted cream....its a dangerous place 😉   it is also quiet when the rest of the ship is buzzing which is often a welcome respite.   Safe sails to all.

Another piece for the puzzle!  I didn’t realise it was Michael’s Club as was. The last time we sailed on Celebrity, which was some years ago, it was the lounge for suite passengers, but was still called Michael’s. We were not suite passengers, but had our muster drill in there.

Just to add a little to the puzzle. Michael's Club once opened as a more "exclusive" lounge was for upper suite guests and Zenith only. Celebrity then decided to include Sky Suite guests too.

Once covid came along, Zenith members were excluded "temporarily" because of crowd control. They have now confirmed that the Zenith exclusion is permanent. A demonstration of the focus away from loyalty and more toward immediate revenue earning. It's a business decision, I understand that, but makes it no less disappointing to me the gradual slide.

Michael's Club was a sad loss to the 'ordinary' passenger.  We used to love going in there in the evening to listen to the pianist and have a nightcap.

We just got off Quest, our first Azamara, on Monday.  Our tier on Celebrity was recognized.  We have not received our points yet for this trip.

We received 120 minutes of Internet each (half of what Celebrity offers).  A word of caution.  When you log off, the message says "logged off".  However, it does not log off but continues to spin down your minutes till they are all gone.  We found this out after using the Internet for 5 minutes.  Went to the IT guy and he restored only half of the time.  Really?  When it's Azamara's mistake?  We then went to GR and got the whole time restored.

Unrelated question.

Are you back in Vancouver? Did you have a flight that connected in Montreal or Toronto?

If so, how did that connection go?

Interesting, Azamara used to be more than Celebrity minutes.

Yes, we are back in Vancouver.  No, we went AMS - SFO - YVR.  We are still dealing with jet lag.  Schiphol was unbelievable.  I never want to see that airport again.

i think CDG is modeled after it!  I’ve done both with escorts and they are still too complicated.

Thanks so much. Disappointing to hear such bad news about Schiphol, an airport that we had regarded as more civilized than others in Western Europe,

Hope the jet lag is brief.
