Rare ninjacat123 Posted July 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2022 This is what is posted on Carnival's website: Carnival welcomes the CDC’s decision to replace its current public health protocols with a new set of guidelines for health operations on cruise ships. We will review these once they’re available, but there are no immediate changes to Carnival’s COVID-19 protocols. While planning an upcoming cruise, guests should continue to follow this page, as well as any pre-cruise communications from Carnival.

Mr305 Posted July 20, 2022 #7 Share Posted July 20, 2022 (edited) FYI for those looking to test ahead of your cruise. I'm in the Miami area and Nomi Health is a big COVID testing provider that works at the County and State levels. Their response to my inquiry is below, as to whether or not testing would be covered for travel purposes and if not, related costs: "As long as you have a domestic address regardless of insurance, testing is free through Nomi in Miami-Date. Just bring identification or proof of address. If you do not have a domestic address, but have insurance, bring your proof of insurance and testing will be free. If you do not have a domestic address, and no insurance, the fee for a PCR test is $75 and the rapid antigen test is $50." You can schedule appointments with them via their website, including additional details regarding locations and testing. Hope this helps those in the area as testing for travel is no longer free in most places and is quite an expense. karmamule Posted July 21, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2022 Virgin Voyages just announced they're dropping proof-of-negative covid test on embarkation day, taking effect later this month. Azamara announced the same a couple days ago. So now 1 of our 4 upcoming cruises no longer needs proof. Keeping an eye out to see if the same will be true for our others on Carnival and Celebrity.

Virgin only goes to the Bahamas and Key West. Carnival and Royal and associated lines will need to review situations and policies in destination ports, many of which may still have vaccination and testing requirements.
