I am confused as to why my TA said I need to let the Canadian authorities know I would be in Canada? Doesn't the cruise line have that information sent to them? TA said there was a form I needed to fill out? Anyone know what TA is talking about.I have been to Canada by cruising and never had to do this.

Google "ArriveCan" and you will find out the reporting requirements depending on whether you embark or just visit a Canadian port.

Put in place by the Federal Government last year so you wouldn't have done it on previous cruises.

Think of ArriveCan as Canada's Public Health registration app to monitor Covid levels/exposure/contacts/vaccination status by foreign visitors and returning Canadian citizens and residents.

You will need an eTA and Arrivecan. Go to the .gov site only for the eTA

Americans don't an ETA to travel to Canada.

Note if you are a US citizen you do not need a eTA. You only need ArriveCan.

Travellers who are exempt from the eTA requirement

U.S. citizens are exempt from the eTA requirement and must carry proper identification such as a valid U.S. passport.
