One, someone probably went through another person's bag and took it and second, someone (prob same person) cashed it in. This thread really isn't about a "lost" ticket. It's about someone possibly stealing from another person's bag. Some posts make me wonder how some treat other people's posessions or what they do when they find something that isn't theirs. Moral equivalency just doesn't work for me. It's one thing to find a $20 bill on the sidewalk in a busy area and quite another to see someone drop it and still keep it. As a child, I accidentally left a purse with $5 in it on a bench when we were shopping. Someone turned in the bag but kept the cash. It was so obviously a child's purse, yet they had no problem stealing from me. Edited August 17, 2022 by BND 7

Oh, it happens. Most people we've met on cruises (and friends) have said they have come home with vouchers for 25 cents or something. As I said, I always hand mine over to someone playing at a machine if it's less than a couple of dollars and I've had the same done for me. They can then just add it to their balance and play.

The one I have is for 15 cents from Symphony at Christmas. With something like 35000 people cruising per week, I wonder how much they make from uncshed tickets

With the amount of alcohol consumed on board I imagine a fair number of chips and vouchers slip to the floor or are left unclaimed on slot machines. 1

Do we have to keep our card in the machine while we are playing? On the newer ships, you don't put your card in a slot. You tap it on a sensor. It stays green while you are playing. When you tap out, it turns red. (then blue, for "ready for next player") So the machine tracks you while it is green from your tap. 🙂

bridedoll1026 Posted August 17, 2022 #141 Share Posted August 17, 2022 I was on Jewel in March. An older woman sat down at the machine next to me. Within a few minutes security walked over to this lady & asked her to come with them. The lady kept saying "I don't know what you want me to do". I didn't catch the entire conversation but after being told that there was video footage & that she actually knew exactly what they were talking about, she did leave with security. Apparently, she had "found" a ticket & was using it. It was traced & I didn't see her in the casino for the rest of the cruise.

You can touch the railings, the elevator buttons, etc but don't touch the cash/change machine. We were on HOTS last Nov/Dec and we had to use the cashier. You and I both know that it's not that they don't work. It's that RC hasn't put them back into service. Why, I cannot fathom.

If my husband puts a ticket in the machine along with his card and then decides to move on but leaves the money in the machine for me and I put my card in the machine and play. Computer software Consider it like this As soon as you see your name on the machine display it knows you are using your husbands credits Your cards are linked to the same folio. But say I have $123 credit in a machine and leave it in there You then put your card in the system knows you are using your account playing with my credits it really isn’t that complicated No need to overthink I unless a crime is being committed 😎 Anyways regardless of all the permutation’s of usage We still have the issue of a stolen ticket Edited August 17, 2022 by PompeySailor

This is how casinos track your play, award you points and prizes and free cruises Hence why they encourage you to use a players card every time you put money or a ticket in a machine It is also a layer of security to be able to track and trace as detailed above. The scenario is one I can relate to as my wife, daughter and I do this pretty regularly. We typically pick a machine at end of night, and bet max and have a “go for it” session Winnings spilt 3 ways and one player gets to rack up more points quicker. Hope this helps 👍🏻
