Just got off a 4 day Liberty cruise.

I must say, I would rate it as 90 out of 100.  There are no broadway type shows...at least on this cruise.

Staff was outstanding.  Very accommodating.  Very nice and polite.

We had a very energetic Cruise Director.  He was all over the ship doing stuff plus over the PA.  Dustin was his name.  He told me he was leaving soon for a ship heading to Hawaii.

Food was good in both the sit down dining rooms and the buffets.  Only breakfast and dinner served in the sit down dining room except for Brunch served on sea day.  But that is only until 12 noon.

Guy's burgers and fries were good.  Its FREE.

Did Nassau and Princess Cay for ports.  Had to ferry over to Princess Cay.

Pier at Nassau is slowly being renovated.  We had the last berth out.  It is a HAUL to get to the street from that berth!!!!  Be ready for a LONG walk to get even to the street from the ship.  They did have golf cart shuttles for those that wanted to wait around for one.  Butttt, there were 3 ships in at the time.  Very crowded and busy pier.

Weather was outstanding all 4 days with a small exception of some quick rain showers here and there on 1 day.

I only watched the gambling in the casino each night.  No gambling loses to report.  I had a $100 bill I was willing to use, but never dug deep enough in my pocket to show it the light... LOL

They have activities throughout the day.  Am sure you can find at least 1 thing you would enjoy doing.

The Carnival app was useful in knowing the schedule of events.  But I or our table mates could never get the app to show the menu's.  The waiters wanted us to use the app.  But gave us hard copies of the menu after explaining that menu's were just not showing up any time.

I had a balcony and only had 1 power outlet in the cabin.  Found another one later in the week in the bathroom, up high, to the left of the mirror.  Taught me to bring a power strip and keep it for future sailings.

Drinks, both booze and soft drinks were VERY expensive.  Still not enough for me to purchase the Cheers package or Bubbles package.  I am talking $7 domestic beers plus 18% gratuity and $10.50 for the starting price of the fufu drinks.  Soft drink was $3.50 If I remember right and then the 18% gratuity. I might have spent $100 drinking on this cruise, if that much.  Tap water in the bathroom sinks was just fine.  I had room attendant leave ice in the AM and PM.  Tap water in the buffet area was just as good.

They will only service the room 1 time a day.  You tell them either in the morning, or evening.  I can live with that.  As long as he leaves the ice!!!

Overall, I would and will be doing the exact ship and itinerary.  Have it set for January.   There is no future cruise desk on this ship.  I already had the January cruise booked.

Hope that gives you a little insight for the Liberty...at least a recent review.

It really is a lot farther walk than it seems when you are at the last berth! Last time in Nassau I was on Sunshine and we were the first berth - closest to the city. That was nice!

The new pier in Nassau will be very nice when it's done!

Yes it will be.  The Disney Wish had the closest berth.

We were in the first berth when we were on Sunshine in April 2022.  I'll see if we are in the first berth again this Labor Day weekend when we are on Sunshine again!

BTW, I had off port parking.  Very easy and relaxing.

It was a breeze getting on the ship and off.  We arrived around noon.  We were eating lunch in the buffet by 12:30.  Getting off was also a breeze.  This crew has it organized well.   Security getting on was a breeze as was customs getting off.

I am going to be on Sunshine later in September but we are going to Bimini instead of Nassau. Have never been to Bimini so kind of excited about that but honestly I don't mind Nassau.

No.  I have not been.  I was just looking at the 3 dayer earlier Liberty has that does Bimini.  I want to check off that location and then saw a RCL that goes there and Bermuda.  Another place I have not been.  Both ships are out of Port Canaveral....close to me, so I will probably book the RCL cruise to get 2 locations checked off my bucket list.

Bermuda is a special place. I definitely recommend it!

I've been to Bimini twice since Restart and both times we have purchased the ResortWorld excursion through Carnival which I believe was $50 for two. Easy tram ride from the port to RW.  DH and I hung out in chairs on the beach with an umbrella (included) and received a welcome rum punch drink (smallish, but included) and there was a bathroom nearby.  I felt it was worth the cost.  When my mom and I went, we hung out in a clamshell near the bar and split a chicken quesadilla for $16 which was enough for two small appetites.  I would go there again for the ease of the tram and the amenities.

I spoke with a young mom who took the tram back from the "free beach" and she told me chairs and an umbrella was $70.  No facilities.  FYI.

I don't mind Nassau either.  We usually head up to John Watling's distillery for the BEST Pina Coladas!

Yes, we have been to that distillery three times just in the past year!

IF I make it to Bimini.  I want to charter a fishing boat.  I hear the fishing off that island is superb.

I looked at excursions that Carnival has there.  No fishing, So I will have to make my own arrangements.

Thank you for your review. We are sailing on Liberty for Labor Day weekend. In our excursion listing there is a deep sea fishing trip listed but it is quite expensive. I'm sure you could arrange something better through Bimini Big Game Club down in Alicetown.

Glad you enjoyed Liberty! Probably been on her at least 8 times since 2016 I think. We did a 3 day in early June and are going on 4 day August 29. Everything is pretty much as you describe. Crew is fantastic as always!  Just mentioning fyi they no longer have the Future Cruise desk on any of the ships. Was always fun to look at the lists of cruises they had and the special rates.

We just did that cruise on the first of Aug, and like you had a blast! We actually had the berth closest, and the Wish pulled up next to us (holy cow what a big ship!)

Dustin was funny (Dustin coming at you from the speakers!), and everyone overall was great! It was our first cruise experience,  but ensured it won't be our last!

How full was boat. Did it seem near capacity?  I’ve never been on liberty  so are there waits/lines anywhere we should plan ahead for?

Not sure how full it was, but felt more than last month cruise I took on MSC.   But the wait time for a seat at breakfast was less than 10 min if you did not use app to book seat.  As always, buffet lines vary,  but was OK.  We arrived onboard 1st day about 12:30.  Buffet was a zoo.  Like looking at dear in headlights.  Was comical to watch.

As always, the elevators were a hit and miss on speed.  Some were X'ed out for use.  One thing that surprised me was on the night before coming back to Port Canaveral, the workers collecting luggage were using 3 of the 4 mid ship elevators, blocking the general public from using.

As for planning ahead.  Get the Carnival app to book what you can book like sit down dining for breakfast, and a few other things.  Anything I was able to book using the app, I would get a text as a reminder close to the time or a text that seat was ready.  Using the app is free onboard.

I saw a bunch of people using their cell phones to keep in touch by voice and text with their group scattered around the ship.  Not sure what that entails though.

I just booked another Liberty cruise, same itinerary, for January.
