Lack of Apple merchandise/hardware

Is there always a lack of Apple items for sale on the iLounge on E class? Now on Edge but (apparently) it’s just the generic stuff in the displays, some cables etc. Absolutely no hardware. Asked the staff during the internet support hours in port but he simply replied “all that is/it’s in the display.” :classic_huh:

Could it be the Spanish VAT, Barcelona is included as port of call?

Yes that is a correct statement.

Celebrity is considered an Apple Reseller and with the shutdown much of their inventory dates back to 2019/2020. They do not carry a lot of inventory to start with - and typically the pricing is about the same as buying on land sans the tax.

In reading through the threads often times the only reason folks are purchasing the apple products (vs accessories) is due to extra OBC - not because they are getting a great deal or they specifically were planning on getting on board the ship

The latter was also on our minds this cruise, having >1400 USD in OBC. One can’t have too many iPads,

one for every floor of the house.. :classic_blush:

It was a bit of a disappointment not seeing any hardware. Previous X cruises did have more so was wondering, perhaps supply chain issues etc.

Thanks!

Spoke to the concierge today, ran out of stock and Spanish VAT. Stock comes from the US, no point in stocking up before heading back.

I don’t mind older stuff, for a Watch to giveaway or second Pencil it’s a nice way of burning OBC.  Although I agree it could be better.

It is not the Spanish tax, Apex was out of Apple hardware from Amsterdam for the whole summer season in Europe. They just did not receive (or order?) any stock from the US for the ships in Europe.
