With 2300 guests, was there any mention of sickness onboard?  Sailing 10/6 with my older parents and testing has pretty much gone away so hoping for a healthy sailing!

On the last night the capt made an announcement that we crossed the 1% threshold, rumors of around 100 positives.  On the FB group several (that's still a tiny amount) have said they tested positive.

Equinox is my favorite ship - I've been on her several times. Was on her last Tday in a suite and enjoyed the Retreat deck even tho there was no pool or bar. The staff were amazing with getting drinks and were always around.

I'm sailing Reflection this Tday and am hoping the rumor of the new Retreat deck is true. Also doing Silhouette for Xmas. I did Edge in March and loved it but I still prefer the S class ships.

We ate every night in MDR and overall the food was good. I am not much of a foodie though so my opinion might not be widely shared. We were, however, disappointed they no longer have tournados, which has been replaced by steak Dianne.
Did see quite a few people wearing shorts and the occasional t shirt, even on chic nights. Heard a few comments about that.

1% of 2300 passengers would be 23 people.

Can you share who the Capt, CD and Activities Director were?

The cruise director is Pete Baker who I thought, did a great job. The Activities Director was Mark, I didn’t catch his last name. I’ve forgotten the Captain’s name.

Was there both a house band and a party band that play around the ship, that is, at the pool, in the Sky Lounge, or in the Grand Foyer throughout the day and evening?  Or was the DJ doing his thing rather than the one or two bands playing.

I realize that members of the the Orchestra play at times around the ship, and there may be a jazz or classical duo or trio, and perhaps a guitarist.

My question just relates to the party band or house band.  I realize they play similar music, but on our Spring Caribbean cruises there have always been two such bands.  Were there one or two such bands on your cruise?

FWIW, Regardless of the cruise being 9 or 10 nights, the "chic" nights normally are your second evening, that is, the evening the next night after embarkation night, and the next to last night of the cruise.  I think of them more as a 1) Welcome to our cruise, which is the first night excluding embarkation night, and 2) a thank you for coming, which is the next to last night, not the last night because everyone is packing and finalizing stuff.  In the Theatre on these two evenings, they often have a a production show, but either way, the Captain normally shows up in the theatre to say "Hello" and "Good-Bye."

Two bands, both female vocalists and both sounded similar. Think it’s been mentioned elsewhere they were repetitive too with their sets, we actually preferred the poolside DJ which is very rare for us, in fact unknown 🤔. But music is all about taste and I am sure many passengers loved them.

Wearing shorts, oh my goodness 😂. I did to be honest but when you think about it, people would only see during the short walk from the desk to our table and we were very close to it. Once sat down no-one would know. I know it’s breaking the rules but they were smart shorts.  Talking about breaking rules, in the pool one day where the capacity is stated as 13, we counted 28!

Hey C4HCG, thanks for the info about the bands.  Even though my wife and I are in our mid-seventies, we still like to dance, whether it be in the Grand Foyer before dinner or later at night, or in the sky lounge or wherever the silent disco is happening.  And, we like the rock and roll stuff, not the ballroom dance stuff.  We were in high school and college in the sixties, and music was great back then.  I still am not a a very good dancer, but my wife really rocks.  Play Footloose or anything from Dirty Dancing, and she still is amazing.  I gotta believe that people who watch her dance, even at her age, are wondering "what is she dong with that guy?"

We are on Equinox on Oct. 6th. How was the entertainment? Any where to watch college football?

Thx

I hate to tell you this.. but college football was spotty. Oh there will likely be a game but not necessarily the one you want. They have two ESPN channels, but not sure programming will be college football or another sport. DH wanted to watch the ND - Ohio state game... so I checked the bars and found that they have the same channels the room has... so no extra broadcast opportunities. There was some College football but not big games. If I recall we did see Wisconsin - Illinois..that was about it. Craft Social and casino bar have TVs.. so if there is a game.. those are places to watch.
