How to purchase cheers for one?

So on our next cruise; I earned DOU (all over the ship) via marketing offer..however if I want to buy my wife cheers (since I already have it); the website won’t let me…it will *only* let me choose for wife AND I.

So..other than waiting to purchase until I’m on the ship..how do I accomplish this?

also; please don’t say use the call center (they can only see the same thing I see on the website; I know; I work with call centers frequently)

also, if you say use a PVP, we tried that and she said “when you get on the boat, talk to the casino staff” (because both my wife and I separately have offers for DOU; so we asked the PVP how we can sail and BOTH use our offers {Our Princess PVP does this for us every cruise})

maybe we just got a dumb PVP?

The only way is purchase it on board.  They probably will not honor the pre boarding price yet definitely ask them to.  I am cust service agent for Carnival and this is direct info just FYI. 😉 So no you cannot even call the funshop or casino dept to order.  And online it will always force you to order for all in cabin.

I'm sorry I thought you were saying that you DID have dou all over the ship.

OP did state that they have DOU all over, they definitely should be able to buy just for the other that doesn't. I believe you're right about it needing to be purchased on board. Several other posters have mentioned this on previous threads.

I do; so does my my wife (via her own marketing offer; but carnival can NOT use individual offers like princess can)

so yeah; you answered it perfectly..it’s not possible until we board.
lol how did carnival spend so much on making a kickass app; yet fail miserabley elsewhere? Hahaha

If your wife also has the offer for DOU, it should cover both of you and you shouldn’t have to buy Cheers!  Please don’t waste that money!

if I were you, I would either send an email to the casino department (casino@carnival.com - they take a few days to respond, but they will get back to you) or else talk to the casino host once you are aboard.

So we’ve had DOU (in casino) a few times and every time we go talk to the casino staff onboard on day1 And they all say the same thing “This would have had to been taken care of prior to boarding, we have no ability to add it”

so this is why I reached out to a PVP; who told me, and I quote:

That offer is under your husband, however I would see the casino host and ask if you qualify as well. They can look at your portfolio #.”

However we’ve never emailed casino@carnival…we’re just so used to working through a PVP (with princess) that we thought maybe a carnival PVP could be as effective.

From what I understand casino operations and promotions are subcontracted out to a different company.  The DOU promotion is between you and that company, which is why your PVP (a Carnival employee) can’t do anything about it.

When I got a reply on my email to casino@carnival.com, it came from “Global Casino Services” and not from “Carnival”…

Wife and I have been able to combine our offers multiple time and both end up with the DOU everywhere even though offer is only for one. Because we both have the offer our PVP is able to get us both drinks even though in one cabin.

Probably just a better PVP than the one we got assigned, haha.

You can only add the second offer if it is identical to the first offer (and still valid) and it must be done prior to the cruise.  As stated if you have the DOU Everywhere offer, you need to add  CHEERS onboard.

I know this is a carnival section..but my PVP on princess adds both my wife and I’s separate offers (Ie: I had $200 OBC and she had $500 freeplay..we get both offers on our upcoming cruise)

Carnival does not allow only one person in a cabin to purchase Cheers under any circumstances... other person is pregnant,  recovering alcoholic, has medical reasons why they can't drink, roommate has DOU.  No exceptions whatsoever if both people in room are 21+.

LOL really? Pregnant?

I have Drinks everywhere offer and 500 Funplay. We booked  1 cabin under my offer but my son had the same offer. I have sent an inquiry to the following. My understanding is that they  will honor his offer as long as it is the same rate code?

I have same situation where both me and my husband have same casino offer. I booked under mine as had a little more free play but both had drinks everywhere. Just to be safe I email oceans player club as noted above and they replied both would same perks. I’m bringing email with me. I also was told by my PVP for another offer where cabin companion does not have drink package you can order for the other cabin mate but have to go to guest services and book after onboard and not get discount.

I have never had an issue with booking one cabin for myself and my sister and each of us get whatever casino deal we have.  I do use a PVP but before calling her I basically give her all the info:  cabin number and booking code.

Lately the deals have been so good that we each book a separate cabin, but we will both be in the same cabin on the Magic in November - and we each had a Jackpot offer - Free Play $$ and drinks everywhere onboard.  I booked under my name but our PVP said that we both show the same deal when she booked it.

I'm like Krisco, I will email the Players Club so that I will have that information in writing.  I've done this in the past and have never had to show it - but better to have it and not need it than not have it.

Yes, really, even if pregnant.  If visibly pregnant Carnival won't serve you alcohol, but their line is that person can still get a large selection of non-alcoholic drinks with Cheers. e.g. bottled water, soda, juices, mocktails, premium coffee and tea, shakes...

Either call and ask to talk to the casino line, or use the contact us link on the casino website prior to your cruise and they can honor it. They don't have to be the same offer, they have to be the same "type" of offer. Example "Hot Streak Bonus", "Jackpot Deal", etc. They will be able to add her perks to the sailing as well.

I just emailed for my cruise in December that was booked under my husband's offer and they confirmed I will receive my drinks and free play as well.

It needs to be the same offer

Do other cruise lines do this?

Royal will make both pax buy the alcohol package online but people on here report being able to call in and order the higher-tier non-alcoholic package (basically Cheers minus the alcohol), not just the soda package, for the non-drinker.

I got this link from the Carnival Casino Payers Facebook page. Posters were saying they got a response within a couple of days. You can take the e-mail confirmation of your wife’s offer with you on the cruise to confirm with the host or at the players desk.
