Slyfox16 Posted September 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2022 Just off the Enchanted. Thursday the Commodore said that there had been an increase in the number of people with covid. The night before we got off, I was paying in the casino. A woman said something and it was obvious that her roommate was in the cabin with covid. She wasn't even wearing a mask. Spoke to guest services. "We are just following CDC guidelines. If she tests negative every day, that is all that we can do. " So much for concern and protecting your passengers 3

Slyfox16 Posted September 17, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted September 17, 2022 No. All crew wore them. But not required for passengers
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted September 17, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2022 it's been like that for a while now and it will remain so. We wore masks the entire time on our June RCI cruise (unless sitting and eating at mdr or buffet), but other passengers didn't. We both got covid. Lots of people were coughing and sneezing like crazy...

I would have left skid marks on the carpet getting away from her.

Rare roxievegas Posted September 18, 2022 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2022 We are currently on Caribbean, on a Canada/New England cruise. I have no knowledge of the covid positive cases on board. My husband and I have worn our masks in pubic places on board for the past 18 days (we are on a B2B) - we are in the minority - I would guess 10% are wearing masks - all crew working indoors are wearing masks, those working on open deck do not have to wear the masks. 1
MissP22 Posted September 18, 2022 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) Since the virus is on the downhill side, I'm glad to hear that things are returning to somewhat normal once again. Edited September 18, 2022 by MissP22
jonesmen Posted September 18, 2022 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2022 Does anyone know what treatments are available on the ship if you do get COVID? I read that the medical center had Paxlovid, but are they equipped to do monoclonal antibody infusion? My DH would need the infusion if he got COVID again. Generally speaking, when cruising you will be transported to the nearest hospital. We have had someone in a group travelling with us injured on an excursion (he turned out to be fine) and the cruiseline wanted him off the ship to a hospital in that port. The ship sailed before they could get him completely checked out. On another cruise a member of the group we were travelling with was traumatized and was put off in the next port for a mental evaluation. IMO I would not cruise if your husband would have to have a transfusion, that would be scary enough at your home hospital much less the ship or whatever hospital is nearest. I don't have an answer to this question but if I was in your shoes, I would ask Princess - not the folks that answer the 1-800 number but directly with the medical special needs department. I agree with @capriccio I would check first with his Dr first and then check with Princess medical department to see what is offered OB. Here is an email address for Princess medical group. IDK if that will help. guestmedical@hagroup .com If you have a TA or CVP at Princess, I would reach out to them for an answer.

We have not been able to get a definitive answer from Princess, so I appreciate the medical group email! We are checking with his doctor, but wanted to be able to share treatment options.
