In a few short weeks, we will be back in 8089 (Q3) on QV, which is right beside the lifts. We've had these Q3's before, and indeed will have one next year as well. Never had any problem with noise whatsoever.

I've also been in that location but on the QE and no noise at all from the lifts (nor from anything else for that matter).

Any noticeable difference between the two packages on offer?

If you mean the pre-Covid Diamond 'free' 8hrs, or the payg post-Covid then yes, definitely. A  Diamond perk has 'bitten the dust'.

If you mean actual Wi-Fi accessibility, it was a bit hit and miss [mostly reasonably OK overall apart from one day when no one could access it, to be fair] but didn't matter if it was on deck 7 stairwell B stairs or in the cabin so I missed being Miss Wi-Fi Congeniality!

Unlike exlondoner's experience,  the balcony was a dead spot all the time but bear in mind, this was on QV.

That has always been my experience in the Vistas too, which is why I was so surprised when it worked on QM2.

I doubt we’ll get a great table as first ever Cunard voyage so have no status.

To a certain extent, as far as newbie to old timer, you're right but grade of cabin also features in the strange world of table hierarchy.

I've had over a dozen QM2 voyages and never experienced that either of these affected the table I was given. It could be that I wasn't paying attention and it could be that I generally book a Balcony (anywhere from Deck 4 to 11) but there really isn't a bad table in Britannia.

Excellent, but buchannan and I have been talking  QG restaurant where I know cabin grade has some  influence with table position on QV and QE, not sure about QM2..

Sorry if I sound like a broken record here guys but are they still checking you in and boarding you by colour and how do they assign those colours? They used to do that before Covid.

We are going on first westbound T/A in April we don't have our boarding time assigned yet of course and we are planning to  check out of our hotel about 11am and head up to the terminal. Do you reckon we will have to wait around in colour code?

Probably, unless you are in the Grills or Diamond. Nobody boards anyway, until the ship is ready, which may be well after 12.30.

So if they give us lets say a  3pm boarding though are platinum members now with Cunard. Will we be sat in those chairs from like 11.30-3pm? Or does being platinum get us priority boarding?

No - there are two different packages, one supposed good for streaming...

Anyone done a speed test on either? (On QM2, preferably)

You're more likely to get answers if you ask this question in a thread about wifi rather than boarding times.

There's some information here which might help

So tell me more about the worst table in QG.

On QM2 anywhere near the door, as there is a draft, anywhere in the large indentation as it’s dark. In addition some people don’t like to be too far from the door, because it’s a bit of a walk, and some people don’t like the windows because people look in. On the Vistas, the QG restaurants are much, much, nicer, I think.

As I said, I have no knowledge of QM2 but on the Vistas, there's no particular 'worst' table, but there are definitely desirable ones, especially the two top category.

Yes, it does sound a bit first world problemish....

It certainly is but wars have been started over less!!!😂

When patiently waiting in line to be escorted to your assigned table on embarkation day, one can't help but overhear when a fellow passenger doesn't want the table assigned to them.

Two tops by the window are the most sought after but there aren't enough of those to go round and even then, there are those which are better positioned.

Table politics, definitely a C21st problem! 🙂

I doubt you’ll have to wait till 3, just until your tranche is called, which will depend on how many are ahead of you.

@buchanan101 Please post a pic of your Lego Titanic. It has been on my Christmas list but I’m challenged with where to place it once complete. Also, the 4 year takes great delight in taking apart all of the Lego builds I do for him. I tend to become a little cranky. Seriously, would ❤️ to see your build.

Well, with eleven days to go and about 4 days after they assigned my cabin, they have finally allocated a more reasonable boarding time of 14:15.

I am glad they have done so, but it suggests a rather complicated process in the back office!
