No more full bottle liquor sales

Seeing a post elsewhere this AM that John H  said  Carnival will no longer have full bottles of liquor for cabin use available on pre-order.

Controlling alcohol consumption or trying to boost bar sales now that Cheers is so expensive?

Maybe this is part of their way of controlling the fights that were breaking out? Do they think people are drinking too much in their cabin? No idea, just a thought.

This is the first cutback that has me irritated. I always enjoyed making a beverage in my room and hang on the balcony. Next will be eliminating the ability to bring a 750ml bottle of wine.

I assume that means those of us on Elite Cruises will no longer get bar service in our cabins as part of our Elite perks any more as well.

This one bothers me for sure. The 1 liter of whiskey is the best alcohol deal on the ship IMO.

I just saw on reddit that bottled wine per person allowance is also gone? What's the deal?

Evidently the "learn More" link leads tot eh current policy and 750ml wine is still permitted.  Botle beverages refers to water and soda in bottles.

I'm going to guess this is due to some of the disorderly conduct, fights and other overconsumption issues they've had.  If it were a revenue issue, they'd simply raise the prices (like they've done on several other items).

At the price per bottle, good riddance. Now wait for the reflux of people bringing their favorite brand in their luggage.

If you think Cheers is expensive, you should look at the prices of the alcoholic packages on most other cruise lines which can be anywhere from $69 per person per day to over $100 per person per day.  Cheers is cheap comparitively.  🙂

Typical outcome. Scum people cause trouble. They are never held accountable. People demand "something be done" so they don't ever encounter a minor inconvenience on "THEIR VACATION". Expecting that the action only impacts people who cause trouble. Outcome ruins it for everyone. Nothing is solved.

Removing bottled liquor sales isn't really going to solve any problems on a ship. There still will be those fights and disrespectful people.

You think a new rule will stop people from overconsumption? What world do you live in? This is only going to cause an uptick in smuggling booze on the ship and cheers purchases.
