trajan Posted October 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2022 Quality wise, how does Playmakers and Jamie's Italian compare? Outside of a major sporting event like an NFL game or the World Series, is Playmakers typically really busy for lunch? Both menus look appealing. Trying to figure out which might be the better option. For people who have tried both what's your preference?
smokeybandit Posted October 30, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2022 They're completely different restaurants with completely different expectations.

taglovestocruise Posted October 30, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2022 We have done both several times. Playmakers is a great place for burgers and onion rings, just a sports bar. Jamies for lunch is a bit more upscale, a very quiet and relaxing 60 minute lunch. As smokeybandit said they are completely different.
Husky1987 Posted October 30, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2022 Why not just do both?
Rare OCSC Mike Posted October 30, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 30, 2022 Playmakers has never once been busy for either lunch or dinner on my 11 days on Indy in the past few months (no major sporting events during those cruises). As others have mentioned, you're comparing apples and oranges here. $9 burgers (love them plus the garlic parm fries), wings, etc. in a sports bar vs. an Italian restaurant that costs $40-50pp for dinner.
Rare orville99 Posted October 30, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 30, 2022 Have eaten in both - would not go out of my way to eat in either ever again.
Rare BecciBoo Posted October 30, 2022 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) Here is a link to Cruise With Ben and David that reviews the food, very good. We plan on doing both. I love them, aren't they funny?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vVlcyhZ_18&t=774s Edited October 30, 2022 by BecciBoo

ATSEAMYLIFE Posted October 30, 2022 #10 Share Posted October 30, 2022 Did both on Navigator in July. Dinner at Jamie's the food was excellent probably the best food we had on the ship. Service was horribly slow and disjointed. I think they were training new people. Jamie's had an ocean view. Playmakers is a sports bar, pub food was good, onion rings really good. Never really crowded, no ocean view but plenty of people watching.
