Rare mamiamjo Posted November 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2022 I haven't cruised in a few years and was wondering if Carnival still offers a free lunch at Cucina de Capitano during lunch? If so, is it every day or only sea days?
cellfree Posted November 3, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Day of embarkation and Sea Days for sure, I’m not sure about Port Days.
knagl Posted November 3, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2022 For ships that have it, it's a fantastic embarkation day option. You can get away from the crazy crowds at the lido buffet and have a decent meal with table service and space at your table for your luggage while you wait for your room. 1
Rudyard Posted November 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Cucina has become our Go-To place for embarkation day lunch. Very few people go there as everyone's in line for Guy's. The portions are a decent size too.
allinwonderland Posted November 3, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2022 It was available every day on my last cruise (Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ is the one that only serves free lunch on sea days)
Rare mamiamjo Posted November 4, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted November 4, 2022 Thanks Everyone! So Pig & Anchor is the one that's only open on Sea Days? Thanks for the reminder 🙂

Rare crewsweeper Posted November 4, 2022 #8 Share Posted November 4, 2022 I have heard....but could be misinformation...that Cucina on the Mardi Gras is NOT open for lunch on Embarkation Day. It's not the pasta bar setup as on other ships. True? Or False?
kicia Posted November 5, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2022 Cucina and Chibang on Mardi Gras are only open for lunch on sea days.

False, I think, that it differs from the pasta bar on other ships. I believe lunch at Cucina on the Mardi Gras is similar to other ships...when it's open. Joebucks Posted November 6, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 6, 2022 Most of the larger ships offer a pasta lunch somewhere. This is more of that, just in that venue. Not really the quality of the Cucina dinner

In the case of Mardi Gras they're actually making it in the dining room near the kitchen. I walked over and talked to the chefs while they were working. Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted November 6, 2022 #13 Share Posted November 6, 2022 Do they have gluten free pasta for lunch? Asking about the Horizon specifically.
