Dinner at Kings Court

We will be boarding the QM2 on the 13th November. I have just looked at the 'Alternative Dining' options and it appears that the themed dining options( La Piazza, Bamboo and Coriander etc) previously offered seem to have been replaced by "Dinner at Kings Court" . I've appended the sample menu. I would be interested to know if any one has tried this menu and if indeed this is the new Kings Court alternative dining option.

I've always enjoyed the previous menus ( La Piazza, Bamboo and Coriander etc), the new offering looks less interesting.

Thanks for any information you can offer.

When we were on QM2 in the summer, the voyage personaliser mentioned this, but in fact it didn’t appear, and we had a very nice meal in La Piazza. So don’t count your chickens.

oh haha that's a 'trick'

they never bother to update the menu on the website, nor on myvogage when you embark.

which surprised me, because most cruise lines bother to update their daily menu.

while onboaRD, you need to look on the daily planner in your room for the theme (rotates every few days), THEN go to the restaurant directly to look at the real menu.

Sorry  Dinner at Kings Court is gone, we tried to get it on Oct 25th crossing and were told it no longer offer. The menu remains on the My Voyage app which is just silly.

Kings Court will have Corianders & La Piazza on alternating nights.

So aren’t they dinners at KC? Jolly enjoyable anyway.

Regular buffet dinner is available.   However the special alternative menu "Kings Court" venue for dinner is gone.

No, La Piazza and Coriander are proper restaurant service with tablecloths and waiters etc. And most enjoyable.

I can now answer my own question as I am now onboard the QM2. As an early reply stated, the Kings Court alternative dining venue is operating as it has done in the past. On this TA it's alternated between La Piazza and Bamboo and seems very popular. Thanks for all the replies.

I can thoroughly recommend the Mandarin Crispy Chilli  Beef in Bamboo! Totally Yum.

How quickly do the alternative dinning fill up.  Will I have to rush to make reservations the first thing on-board (we will be traveling on the QE however I am guessing a similar system).

Not as soon as you get on board, though the first night is cheaper, but I have rung up on the day I wanted to go and it was full.

We love Bamboo.  We have often gone to these pop-up restaurants and have never had a problem getting a same day reservation.  We do dine late, after 8:00, so maybe that makes a difference.  Almost every time there were a lot of empty tables.
