Tedferg Posted November 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2022 When are the first Love Boat cruises that will confirm if Love Boat OBC is in fact limited to excursions.
bmench Posted November 8, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2022 I was wondering about this also.

I understood it to be fact already due to one or more guests asking a PCL rep or CVP concerning their booking.

I just made the booking, so my curiosity peaked. 31 minutes ago, Steelers36 said: I understood it to be fact already due to one or more guests asking a PCL rep or CVP concerning their booking. What do you think the fact to be? BTW it is unusual for you to give an ambiguous response 🙂
Tedferg Posted November 8, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted November 8, 2022 Various categories of OBC are listed in our future booking and the only reference is to being non-refundable. No reference to Shore Excursion. But then Princess is haphazard in these things.

I too have read that it is just general OBC, but would also like to hear confirmation on how it worked in real life! We have a $200 for next year on a cruise where I would typically not book Princess excursions.

Same for us, I thought previously there was a comment about it being for excursions.
Tedferg Posted November 10, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted November 10, 2022 Final thought, here is what Princess says in 'Offer Details' No mention of using it for Excursion only. †$100 Shore Excursion credit per guest will be applied as an onboard credit. Offer is applicable to all guests (up to 4) in a stateroom. Guests with single occupancy will receive double the per guest credit amount. Shore Excursion credit may be used on a single voyage only, is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used in the casino, expires at the end of that voyage and is not applicable during the land portion of cruisetours. Shore Excursion credit is based on the ship’s onboard currency.

Why not call it extra OBC or general purpose credit instead of being ambiguous and confusing us all. Like most people I would prefer to use it for anything on board.
coo359a2 Posted November 10, 2022 #13 Share Posted November 10, 2022 We have a 2 day cruise booked next October. Embark then a sea day and then we disembark We all have the $100 Shore Excursion credit on our booking.
justafem Posted November 10, 2022 #14 Share Posted November 10, 2022 My TA told me it was regular onboard credit. But who really knows until someone reports back. If it is truly only to be used for excursions, I'll go on something that I wouldn't pay to do before. My next is Jan. Hopefully there'll be a report before then. Happy cruising.

Because 90% of cruisers (specifically those not on CC) would book excursions with it as instructed?
