Australia Day

Australia Day fireworks in Sydney will commence at approx 9.15pm so whether you are docked at the OPT Circular Quay or at Whitebay you will have a great view of the fireworks. They are four ships in Sydney that day and evening according to the Sydney Ports website.

White Bay is the other side of the bridge, not that far away but not easy to get to and from.

We will be docked in Sydney on Australia day.    Is the cruise port right near the harbor so the fireworks can be seen?

The view is something like this:

You would probably be better off making the trip into Circular Quay or the Opera House for a better view.

As the OP's ship is due to sail within a couple of hours of the fire works starting, it would not be a good idea to be anywhere else except on the ship. Imagine trying to get a taxi back to White Bay in time to be onboard for sailaway after the fireworks.

definitely will be on the ship!  They might adjust the departure to coincide with the fireworks who knows.

That would would be very unlikely, as there will be many smaller craft on the harbour to watch the fireworks. There may also be barges with fireworks situated in the middle of the harbour.  Your departure will be at the scheduled time so that the harbour is clear for larger shipping to safely navigate.
