  1. Don’t know about the dinner, but worth asking Regent. Just remember that it is somewhat of a mass dining experience. The Grand Voyage event is usually off the ship in some venue, similar to the world cruise events. On the Splendor GV in December, it was scheduled towards the end of the cruise (Rio).
  2. None. Only on cruises of 16 nights or more.
  3. Segments tend to be longer, usually at least 18 days or more, never 7. Last year’s WC had seven segments, so we got 21 initial reservations.
  4. What is your status, as you said you have cruised many times? Regent goes by status - first choice to Commodore, then Diamond, Titanium, and so on. Also, previous world cruisers get preferential treatment.
  5. There have always been segments, even if the cruise seems to sell out initially. People drop out all the time.
  6. They show as waitlisted because bookings don’t open until April 10.
  7. I can’t say for sure since we had a Regent private transfer, but I did not see any taxis lined up. Everybody from our shuttle was on Regent transportation (bus or private car). I would definitely consider a car service (or private water taxi if you want to splurge).
  8. We disembarked in Fusina last October on Navigator. The airport is Venice Marco Polo. After leaving the ship, everyone has to go on a shuttle bus to the cruise terminal to pick up luggage (about 30 minute drive). There is no private transportation allowed into Fusina, so you cannot use a taxi/limousine from there. All transportation has to be arranged from the Venice cruise terminal. If you use a Regent bus, they usually drop you off some distance from the airport terminal (buses are not allowed to stop at the terminals) and you have to make your own way there with your bags. I would suggest private transportation from the cruise terminal and give yourself plenty of time. As mentioned above, Venice airport is busy and overcrowded and no fun.
  9. Whistling balcony doors (current complaint on FB) 😊
  10. We were on the South America GV in December and they announced the special event venue during the pre-cruise gala dinner. They will make sure that excursions return in time to make the event.
  11. The only time I have ever seen dancing is late in the Splendor Lounge, after the show. The dance floors are all small, nothing like the Horizon Lounge on the older ships.
  12. We walked by Largo Della Pace. There did not appear to be shuttles any more.
  13. We were there last October. The shuttle pick up was at the port side of the Fort (see map). We were docked about the farthest away from town, but walked all the way to the Fort. The pedestrian walkway is clearly marked. Nobody tried to stop us.
  14. I have not specifically used shuttles in Japan, but we make use of Regent shuttles extensively all over the world since we don’t like excursions. There is no one size fits all answer since it depends on the distance from port to town. Usually they try to get you into the center of town, but also often to some shopping mall. Shuttles run about every half hour or so unless it is a really long ride, sometimes there is a lunch break. Schedules will be available from Destination Services the night before.
  15. All tips onboard are included in your fare. You should tip non-Regent personnel, such as tour guides and drivers.
  16. We are not going until next year, so I cannot cite an actual experience, but my understanding is that the bus goes to the central bus station and then you will be transferred to smaller vans that will take you directly to your hotel ( all included in the same price).
  17. Santorini is another one. We have also used local tenders at times when the distance to shore was long and the local tenders were faster and/or could hold more people.
  18. I can only provide information on the suites below Penthouse. Brand is L’Occitane Bergamote. Small bottles.
  19. Yes, Destination Services Manager, currently on Splendor.
  20. Someone asked Luke about the WC on Splendor the other day and he said there will be a major itinerary change.
  21. Yes, same course. Bocce is next to it. There is also golf putting.
  22. Yes for pickle ball. Classes are Yoga, Pilates, indoor cycling, etc.
  23. I am not familiar with the Indonesian visa process, but I am wondering if it is similar to what Brazil is doing. In that case, to get a visa you have to set up an individual account and then pay for your visa through that account (the same applies to the Australia ETA as well). So Regent would not be able to directly pay for your visa. Instead, after you pay for your visa, Regent will give you refundable OBC in that amount.
  24. We are currently on Splendor going around South America (but not Antarctica), right now in the Falklands. Weather has been spectacular, especially in the Chilean fjords. Mid-60s there, 50s in Ushuaia and Falklands. But remember, YMMV. Even the locals couldn’t believe the weather we were having. We have been to Antarctica before, expect temperatures around freezing, definitely need warmer layers there.
  25. Unfortunately pool deck does not work in Chilean fjords unless we all wear our parkas.
