Good evening.  Once I got everything put away friom my WM stop, I made a dent it decorating more of the cookies.  I'll work on more of them.  Right now, I'm finishing supper of chicken fajitas and wine followed by key lime pie.

DH has had some good meals in rehab, but also some spectacular duds.  I think his text after tonight's offering sums it up perfectly, "I'm sure glad cruise ships do not have their food delivered from hospitals".  🤣

Well, I just broke my own rule.

Do you have a brand name for the key lime juice?  Oh, and a recipe?

@0106 Tina's picture is the same brand as I use for key lime pie.  However, the recipe on the bottle I used is nothing like the one Tina posted.  My bottle has the same recipe I shared earlier.  I used to make it with meringue, but since a pie lasts us a few days, the meringue would get tacky.  Now, we eat it with whipped cream or plain.

Good Afternoon Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report.   We made it home this afternoon and it will be nice to sleep in my own bed.  I don't sleep well in hotels. I'm not sure what's for dinner but will probably be takeout.

So one of the furry children tried to stream shows while we were away. The sitter sent me a picture of the TV on.  Interrogations will be held later, main suspect is she with three paws.  Now how to cat proof the TV.:-).

It was nice driving Thursday and Ftiday nights and seeing lots of homes decorated for Christmas.

Yesterday we spent the day with the grandkids and DS.

Glad you made it home safely.  A great picture of DH with the grandkids . Maybe you could hire the cart outnp to program DVRs.

So today was a fruitful day.

Jim and I went furniture shopping for our living room.

I had seen a picture of something I liked and we went to the store to look for it.  We were lucky in that they did have most of it in stock and had a Black Friday Sale of 15% off.  So we ended up with a bargain.  Also since we put half deposit down, they will hold it until we are ready for it.  So we don’t have to worry about it not being in stock when we need it.

The only item not available was the ottoman/cocktail table.  They are not sure if they can get it.  If not, Wayfair has it and I wail order it from them.  However, they are more expensive.

Here is a picture of what I ordered today.  We are so excited about it.

Teri, I like the looks of your new furniture.  However, being a klutz, I've  always been leary of upholstered ottamans, but it adds a comfortable look.

Baby Ethan was welcomed into the world at 9 am. Mom and baby are well.

🎉Congratulations to all!🎉 Love the name Ethan -- a bit prejudiced toward it as it's our youngest DGS's name, too.

Definitely blessed to be in a position where our family can support small business.  These are also the people who give so much back to the community as well.

...

I am in construction, and usually brown bag it.  One of my current projects is causing a lot of hardship on the small businesses.  A lot of us have taken to do what we can, buy meals and services, try to help out where we can.

How wonderful that you and your coworkers are helping out businesses disrupted by your project. You truly understand that we're all in this world together.

(And, welcome to the Fleet Report & Daily from a relative newbie Daily-ite.)

Well, this Small Business Saturday I didn't buy anything but I did recently buy a pair of Travelsmith slacks for Dressy nights.  On my last cruise I discovered they had come unhemmed, so today I took them to my neighborhood tailor shop to get them ready for next time.

What a wonderful thread this is, just discovered it a few days ago. Should be on a Ultimate Caribbean cruise right now, but had to cancel due to a temporary health issue, so here I am.

I have just booked our first cruise with HAL, very excited to try it out. We started cruising years ago with NCL, but have been almost exclusively with Celebrity the last 10 years. This April 30th will be our 30th Anniversary,  so I am going to surprise my DW.  Will let her know after her birthday in January. I was looking for a sailing departing the 30th, and am actually excited for a lot of other itineraries HAL offers, so its a 1 week Alaska test cruise.

So quickly, its Rob and Sue from Vancouver BC.  I was retired, got talked into coming back, and love it.  DW has a small business, will probably shut it down in a few years, until then I will make more fun money.

Once again, wonderful posts, and quick question: Does HAL have lobster nights? Its a thing for me.

Welcome aboard, Rob & Sue!

Glad you all like the furniture.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

i understand the concern about the ottoman.  I am having second thoughts myself but like the color contrast,.  Not yet sure what we will do about it.

Still thinking about it.

Get a nice wooden tray to place on the ottoman when you want to use it as a cocktail table.

So much stuff happened today on the Daily!  Ethan arrived.  I too like the name, it's the first name of DH's oncologist.  More cats learned to turn on the TV-Irving managed last week to change the announcer for the F2 race from English to the German feed....Still wondering about that one, the cat does not speak German.   Neither do we, but it took half the race before DH figured out how to change it back to the English announcer.

@lobsternight Welcome to the Daily, this is the most wonderful group people I have ever met !  I hope one day I can actually meet them all in person.  (that means you too)  My first HAL cruise is in May of 2023.   We leave Vancouver on the 7th.

@grapau27Thank you for all the food porn pictures this week!

Pleasant Dreams everyone!

Talking about roof leaks reminds me.  DD and DSIL saw a drip in their garage ceiling onto DSIL's new truck.  Went upstairs and found their garden tub above it must be the culprit.  A plumber came, cut out a hole in the ceiling, then a hole in the panel beside the tub, etc.  If you don't use the tub the glue the builder used on the piping cracks and water leaks eventually happen.  Now they have to repair the pipes, replace the insulation, clean up the mold inside the drywall, and repair the stained ceiling plus the painting involved.  Water is the enemy of our homes they say.

Well Ryan the cruise director just announced a change in guests for the coffee chat this morning.  Instead of the doctor he will have Naki Ataman so I have to run now.  Want to hear him answer questions and hopefully give him Lenda's message.  (I'm a little shy).  Not good to hear the doctor had to cancel last minute though.  Hope it's nothing serious!!

And I bet you could either treat it with a stain-proofing finish or a professional could. That would also help.

Another good idea.

Sandi, the coffee chat should be good.  Naki has led an interesting life.  I wish I could be there.   We found Naki very approachable and easy to talk to. I'm sorry about the water leak in your DD and DSIL's house.  We've tried for years to find our leak, and I hate to think what  it looks like between the ceiling and the roof.
