bazzaw Posted December 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2022 What is the current Cunard procedure (for all 3 ships) for people who test positive to Covid while onboard. Obviously, confinement for a number of days - but how many days and in what cabin????
majortom10 Posted December 4, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2022 Until you test negative and I believe you now stay in your own cabin.
Lakesregion Posted December 4, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2022 Not quite 20 years before the Mast but the 2022 full world cruise of 117 days could be a sequel in the making.
lissie Posted December 4, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2022 (edited) It varies depending on where the ship is. I know QE was doing 5 days minimum and then test to release up until 10 days. But when she's sailing in NZ waters NZ requirements are 7 days minimum (that's on land so will apply to ships too) - not sure about Oz requirements They have specific quarantine cabins - if you are in an inside or oceanview you are moved to a balcony. I think they move balconies if they can ie they have the quarantine capacity - to make it easier for crew Edited December 4, 2022 by lissie

Yup happened to people we knew on our cruise this year - they have a requirement to provide you access to fresh air

They won't lock you in the cabin for 117 days surely not?

Having been quarantined on Cunard, I can assure you, whatever the restrictions, they don’t lock you in at all.

They don't lock you in but they don't give you a key so if you move cabins once you're in you're staying there. Once you test negative you will be asked to leave pretty quickly. Mr HH tested positive on QV and was moved to a balcony quarantine cabin on September 30th. He was re-tested and released on October 6th.

True, of course, but if the ship hits one of those icebergs so common in the Med, one need have no fears about one’s ability to extricate oneself. 😀 Or, more realistically, in case of fire.
