April 2024 Glory cruises not available to book

I already have a cruise booked on the Glory for the last week of April in 2024. I wasn't able to find that cruise today when I was checking for price drops. No cruises for the Glory appear on Carnival's website from the end of March until the beginning of May.

I don't recall receiving an email about it.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with her?

Thanks

She is moving to Port Canaveral.  Probably a dry dock in between.

I wouldn't be too mad if they cancelled. I just booked a 16-day transatlantic for later in 2024 and I'm down to using my toes to count my available vacation days. Knowing my luck though, they'll just move my reservation to the Mardi Gras. 😂

Right?!  Those vacations days be so limiting, always getting in the way!

I haven't seen mention of any cancellations yet, due to the change.  It was just announced that Liberty will be taking the place of Glory in NOLA - so maybe just moved to that ship...

We're booked for February 2023 on the Glory, and getting married on the ship, so glad no changes until 2024!  Phew!

I was just looking at Glory in 2024. Moving to Port Canaveral. Liberty moving to NOLA.

Right now, NOLA only has the Valor sailing out in April. The Liberty isn't scheduled to start there until May. It seems they are moving a few ships around so I'll just have to keep an eye out I guess.

Can New Orleans get something newer than Glory?

Sure, here's Liberty

IKR. I was hoping for a big, newer ship, but no....I don't know why it keep being said the river can't handle a big ship when it absolutely can and has before. 🙄

I don't think it has anything to do with the river. NOLA had Dream before. NOLA has Breakaway now. It can definitely handle a Dream or Vista class ship.

I think it is because Galveston is cannibalizing all of the traffic from New Orleans.  Galveston ships can get out to sea faster = casinos and bars open faster.  Both of these ports are drive-to ports and it seems Galveston is the lines' go-to for the future.

I, too, wish NOLA would get a better ship.  Can we swap Dream for Valor, please?!!

But you can't get Cheers until day 2 out of Galveston. The Texas people are going to go to Galveston regardless. If anything is hurting New Orleans It's probably having a ship in Mobile.

I think the advantage for NOLA is we can handle more than 1 ship while Moblie can only do one but I do think it is hurting the market being so close. I've taken 2 cruises out of there and I probably will again when the next ship, I think the Sprirt? comes. But only because it offers a slight bit of variety. Key word is slight. But I would rather have a Big ship in NOLA, especially one that can do long cruises, further out.

I do have Spirit out of Mobile booked for 2024. I got a great deal on it in the spring sale and I haven't been on a Spirit class ship yet. I probably won't book out of New Orleans until it gets a newer ship. Unless it's something special like the Panama canal or something.

I have the 14 day Journeys cruise on hold that's Dec 1, 2024 on the Liberty. Less than 3000 for 2. Just waiting for my cruise partner to come back from her current cruise to confirm she wants to go. Panama Canal, Aruba,  Curaco,  Cartagena.

And that’s the kind of thing it would need to be for me. It seems like most of those are during football season though. I don’t know if the canal is closed in august or what but they seem to be mostly Oct-Jan. Two weeks on an old ship during football season is no good for me.

They way the Saints are playing right now, I can sacrifice and go on a cruise during football season. 🤣 But hey, they still have 2023 to redeem themselves. I'm rooting for the playoffs for my Pels for this season.

Hoping they dont win another game for the rest of the season since the eagles have their 1st round draft choice.

I peg the Saints to still win the Falcons game on Sunday. We might have a riot here in the city if they lose to them. The whole NFC south sucks right now, however.

Right on the first part, but the one time I sailed out of New Orleans, the casino was open immediately after the muster drill. If it floats, that's good enough for Louisiana.

But I do have to say, my 1st cruise was on Valor out of NOLA on a Saturday and the Saints played that Sunday. They played the game on the big screen outside. People had pots and pans and were banging them on the lido!! I said y’all just as crazy as we are 😂😂😂

I would love to sail from New Orleans but these two ships make it far less appealing. Been on the Liberty. No complaints. No big props either. And given that the itineraries go to the same places I've bee a million times, a visit to New Orleans will have to do without a cruise. A Dream class there would have been nice.
