bigmoose7563 Posted December 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2022 I was wondering if anyone has experienced not getting their gty room assigned until boarding day. I'm 5 days out and still just says gty, yes even in the barcode is gty. My main question is if there is still no room assigned by boarding day are we able to still give the luggage to the porters without a room on the luggage tags? superduper123 Posted December 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2022 We booked a gty for the first time, and are curious as well. We are still 100 days out, so not concerned yet. But was hoping we would know around the 30 day time frame.
royalmariner24 Posted December 21, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2022 You can call RCCL CROWN and ANCHOR and they will tell you what your room number is do you can print your luggage tags. I had a guarantee balcony in November called the week before my cruise and got my room number that was assigned. Good Luck

Very unlikely neither C&A nor RCI rep can tell you anything if the cabin is not assigned.
Starry Eyes Posted December 21, 2022 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2022 Odds heavily favor getting the assignment before boarding day. I think you will probably get it in next two days (by Friday pm). If not see the porters for cabin number and tags.
cruisegirl1 Posted December 21, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) Mine was guarantee on the barcode, but when I transferred it to Apple wallet, there were some numbers under the barcode that indicated my cabin number. Try that. Also, you really don’t need luggage tags in advance, the porters will have them for you. m Edited December 21, 2022 by cruisegirl1

The OP already said that even decoding the barcode did not reveal the assignment.

Homosassa Posted December 22, 2022 #11 Share Posted December 22, 2022 Just remember that the guarantee cabin which is assigned can be changed by the cruise line up to the time of embarkation.

GUT2407 Posted December 28, 2022 #14 Share Posted December 28, 2022 Yep a guarantee isn’t a cabin till you’re in it. I have had them assigned from within minutes of booking to boarding. I don’t book them anymore I’ve become picky about location, location, location.

blondie from arizona Posted December 30, 2022 #16 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Mine has changed at the port. It was a NICE upgrade. Didn't bother me at all. I think someone didn't want it because it was in a noisy area. I was happy. It is like gambling. I have 2 guarantees booked right now. Just booked this week for 2 weeks from now. The Jan 9 cruise gave us a room # within a day; still waiting on the Jan 14 cruise. Different ships. I do contact my TA and see if I can change the room within category if I don't like the room and there are any rooms in same cat available. Plus, I believe you have the ability to "lock down" the room you get, if you do not want an "upgrade" after your room is assigned.
