Smoking on the Rotterdam

Hello Everyone,

Can my fellow cruise critic followers let me know what the smoking regulations are on the Rotterdam ?
Casino , etc …. We are not smokers , just want to know what the situation is on the ship.

Hey Bruce thanks for your reply.

I was hoping not to sort through 5 years of on again off again policies and get a current policy on the smoking situation on the Rotterdam. Simple question to the point.

Smoking questions almost always fall into rants and attacks.

 

Looking around the board for topics doesn't hurt...in fact it is recommended by Cruise Critic guidelines, and is the reason the Sticky was created.

 

The smoking policies have not been "off and on."

Smoking in the Casino at a small Section of Slots (while playing) and also at Sea View Pool (Lido Aft) on Starboard side.

Thanks everyone. I was officially told by an HAL rep today smoking is permitted 

in the Casino on the Rotterdam.

If the Koningsdam is anything like the Rotterdam (they are both Pinnacle Class ships) I will say it will not be an issue.  They have air purifiers at the smoking spots and the casino does not reek of smoke IMO.  

Of course, there are more advantageous spots to go in it if even a hint of a whiff is a concern but honestly, I’ve heard no complaints on board.  And yes,I am in the casino - probably too much 😂

There are so many complaints coming from our trivia group about smokers on deck at casino. It really is annoying for those of us not used to smokers. Our neighbors next door were turned in and fined for smoking on their balcony (not by us) ,they said they were given a $250 fine..

Was just on the rotterdam. I didn't play in the casino, but walking through every night, the smell of smoke was very strong.  Smoking allowed by aft pool on the side with the bar.  Depending on the wind, the smoke smell definitely carried to both sides of deck in covered non smoking area. (Enough that I left the area a few times)
