Yeah, that's not going to do it lol.

While I don't think you have to "lose" a large amount, you have to put in some decent time.  Make sure you are being rated if table playing.  If you aren't doing some moderate betting, it's probably not going to get too far.

Slots tell you your points, and it can be a slow climb.  While I never hit their points requirement, I still get rebooking offers.  I tend to probably spend about $400-$500, and get interior offers.

The fiance gets balcony offers, primarily from blackjack, but she bets big - $100-$200 a hand, especially if a pit-boss is watching (it's pretty obvious).

Still haven't found our way to free drinks anywhere on board, but maybe after our February cruise!  🤣

Check new casino offers out now.  Do need to check both VIFP accounts.

I agree with kdr69, most people think it's just the amount of money spent/lost.  There seem to be a lot more factors that go in to it.  It helps to be friendly with the casino host and pit-boss, they really can get you on the offers list.  If you're playing table games, be friendly with the dealer, even develop rapport.  Have a good time!  Woo them with charm!

And then other things, like time spent at a table, yes money lost is a factor, but they also look at how you're betting.  You can tell when the pit-bosses are coming around rating, and they really do watch your play and how you're betting.

Basically, they are looking for degenerates who will spend all day at the casino, and drop a hundo on a hand. (that's a joke, people.  we spend a lot of time in the casino.  And as mentioned, lose (and win) some pretty big hands).

Slots is pretty straight-forward, but slow.  The slots are hard to woo.  😆

Tipping the dealers also help

How do you get rated at table games?

Make sure you give the dealer your sign and sail card, and make sure whatever game you're playing your first several hands you're betting bigger. The Pit boss will enter into the computer what your average bet is, which is why you want to bet bigger at the start, which is when they input what you're betting.

I think it also matters if you are booked. I always seem to have a carnival cruise booked and i think they skip over me to someone with no bookings. Once i sail next jan i bet more offers come.

I think so, too.  We gambled a bunch and lost a lot, but never got an offer until we no longer had a cruise booked.  Guess they figured they already had us on the hook (which they did, lol).

Would be nice if it was more transparent.  In our case we get offers if we have other cruises booked or no cruises booked.  For sure we get better offers when playing slots vs table games even if we spend same amount during cruise.  For tables I think you need $25+ avg bet for hours and hours to get anything good.  Slots you just have to play a lot (not necessarily lose or spend - play your winnings) and time in casino playing definitely plays a role.  And you have to book the offers you get.  The more we book, the more we seem to get.

I give myself $100 per cruise day.

Here's my logic.  I had a casino rate booked, typical free room, paying taxes and port fees, with the $100 being given back as onboard credit.  So 10 day Alaskan for $800 total for hubs and I.  Friend booked the exact class of room for her and her (grown) son.  Their cost was $3600,

I spent my typical $1000 in the casino, got my free steak house and drinks and I was happy.

So I spent $1800 for the cruise, free drinks and a comped steakhouse.  She spent $3600.  We were both happy.  She spent time in the casino and now I have a new cruise buddy! We'll take whomevers deal works for the time we can go.

It's not about how much you bring to gamble each day. It's about points earned and time playing for slots. Table games are by how much you bet and time playing (and as mentioned, it doesn't hurt to make friends and get noticed!).

Bounce back offer's (the ones you get when you get off the ship) are based on your play for that cruise vs. everyone else's play on that cruise. The offers you get quarterly are different.

We usually cruise Royal and they are very transparent.  It is posted on cruise how many points you need for an offer.  Last cruise it was 800 points.  What does that mean?  Well on a slot machine for every $5 wagered you get a point.  So that means you would wager $4000.  However, that does not mean you take $4000 out of your wallet.  Its more like $400-$600 range.  That is because you have to include all your winnings so you put in $100 and you don't get $100/5 =20 points.  Usually its more like 50-75 points.  Just depends on the kind of machine you play and how lucky you are.  You need to look for machines that have a good payback.   As far as tables go, they don't give anywhere near the comps.  To get the same number of points on a table you have to wager a lot of money.  Craps has the worst comps, then blackjack, but roulette and the other games are a little bit better.  But if you are not a seasoned table player willing to gamble in the thousands, it is not a good way to do it.  I am not sure what carnival does, as we have not sailed them in years.  However, they will match your royal status by application on their website which is how we did it.  We booked two cruises and will see how it goes.  For those of you who are betting $100 a cruise.  Don't was your time or money.  You have to gamble at least $100 a day and be willing to lose it.  However, I can tell you this, me and my wife limit to $100 a day.  Usually on a cruise we will lose 3 or 4 hundred dollars each.  keep in mind casino offers are per person and not per couple.  We of course never pay for a room, only tax.  We cruise once a month in the winter when we are off.  I have a stack of offers that we cannot use.  We also get two rooms per cruise and we just put me in one and her in another and guests in each.  We of course don't sleep that way.  You can also book very loosely as there is no penalty for cancellation which is nice.  Taxes are refunded.  The way I look at it, we get discounted cruises about 1/2 price of what you would pay considered what we lose, get 3-5 hours a night of gambling included and free drinks.  It's also exhilarating to gamble knowing you will get a free cruise out of it even if you lose it all.  I made prime on royal but max betting on a poker game ($10 per point) and got 1500 points on only $400 last year.  Prime has since gone to 2500 points in a calendar year.  Sorry, most of this is royal stuff, I will report back in Feb on our free 8 day Panama Canal out of Tampa and let you know what carnivals deal is.  However, most of this applies to any casino.  Most people won't do it as the cannot stand to part with even $100 for the entertainment.  But in the end, that's all that gambling really is.  If you are there to make money, you are in the wrong place.  Yes it happens, but you won't do it long term.

Unlike most casino programs both land and cruise based Carnival's Casino program DOES NOT have a published tiers system. Obviously on the back end there are casino player tiers but they are not published. So as a casino player on Carnival you don't have published levels/tiers for you to play and earn points to attain.

The best offers I’ve ever received from Carnival (just in the last few months) were when I had 4 future cruises booked. I kind of assumed nothing would come on the radar with all that already set up, but I was wrong!

Regarding upping your bet when it appears the pit boss is making the rounds – I pretty much now just bet like I’m going to be anyway, based on how play has been going. I can recall one time seeing the pit critter coming towards my table… I play two (BJ) hands to begin with anyway at the $25 table, but upped it to $300/hand as he approached. Of course, I ended up that play with multiple splits and doubles and probably lost close to $2k just from those initial two hands… yep, I’ll just play the way I play (and tip generously and regularly, with a good attitude to boot)!

BTW, there should be a “common sense” test for players at higher limit tables, lol… During our Liberty sailing last month there were more “bad” players than I’ve seen in years: dealt an A-5 against a dealer’s 5, and STAND… get a pair of Aces, and… DOUBLE !  At least 6-8 times someone would sit down an get chips on their card --- and only get between $25-50, at a $25 table!

OK… off my soapbox  😊

I certainly haven't seen any very good deals lately, I'm wondering about anyone else.  Also, I got off Magic a week and a half ago and haven't seen any post-cruise deals either (I've checked on Carnival's website several times).

I've got several cruises booked through the spring of 2024 so I'm suspicious that has something to do with it.

I haven't seen anything good. But I always have cruises booked. That's about to change in a year unless something good comes up.

Actually it's about to change for the second half of this year as well. For the first time since I started cruising I don't have anything booked for August. And thanks to the Jubilee delay, I don't have anything booked after August either. I do have the three cruises early next year but then nothing after that. I need something exciting or I'm going into free agency.

Depends on what you meen by recent. Since November I have booked two 7+ day cruises on Venezia at great prices.

I did see some....what I consider good prices...on Venezia for their winter cruises. I don't think those were VIFP deals for me though. I think I was just looking at regular prices.

Have a more the merrier offer that is pretty good (and better than the welcome home offer from the week before from our last cruise).  DH had 2 decent casino offers a week apart once we got home as well (he really did not spend much time in casino on MG last month).

Since we have 2 cruises already booked for this year as well as a 10 day vaca in London end of May we did not do anything else for this year.  Now...perhaps I may have something on hold for that MTM offer for 2024...maybe
