The world's largest cruise ships dock there, other than the "Escape incident", there is no reason NCL should not. Rare Turtles06 Posted January 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2023 And, oddly, the Dawn was sent to Amber Cove today, although she has been showing on the Taino Bay schedule since it was posted for January. Note that the Dawn now shows up on the Amber Cove schedule not only for today, but also for January 31. https://ambercove.com/Port-Schedule.aspx
Rare wil e coyote Posted January 20, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Also oddly, Encore is not on the Taino Bay schedule for today! Taino Bay, Puerto Plata (porttainobay.com)
randomthought Posted January 20, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Great news, thanks for sharing! We'll be on that ship in the same port in 2 weeks and are really hoping it will be in Taino Bay instead of Amber Cove. Our plan for the day is to just explore Puerto Plata instead of doing an excursion so that will make things much more convenient to be docked there. kdmbluerzr Posted January 20, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Interesting, the cruisemapper webstie shows Encore docked at Ward Cove and Dawn docked at Taino Bay. So who knows.

So who knows. I'm not sure what you are looking at, but here's a screenshot from cruisemapper earlier this morning showing the Dawn at Amber Cove and the Encore at Taino Bay. (Looking at cruisemapper now, it also shows that the Celebrity Constellation is docked at Taino Bay as well.)
surfone Posted January 20, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2023 I hope the encore will dock at Taino Bay next week vs. Amber cove. We are on virgin valiant lady now and our first stop this week was Taino Bay, loved it! Of course, we were only ship there and we have less than 900 cruisers on board so it was relaxing and quiet. surfone Posted January 20, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Meant to say we will be getting off Valiant Sunday and boarding Encore. Will be a whole different vibe for sure.

The itinerary on the app showed Charlottetown, Canada as one of the stops this week. Not sure how we were supposed to get to Tortola for the next day.

kdmbluerzr Posted January 21, 2023 #18 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Oh my gosh! I need to look at the maps closer and don't get my Coves mixed up! We did visit Ward Cove last summer. Hoping we get to visit Amber Cove soon. Thanks everyone. 🙂

The music was too loud for my liking.
Rare Ken the cruiser Posted January 21, 2023 #21 Share Posted January 21, 2023 It now looks like the Dawn along with the Gem will now be docking in Taino Bay on Jan 31, with the option of the Dawn also docking in Amber Cove! 😂 https://www.porttainobay.com/en/arrivals https://ambercove.com/Port-Schedule.aspx
