Promenade On Allure

Recommended Posts

I've been looking at pictures of the Allure and most seem to be of the ship's interior.  Is there an outside promenade deck to walk around the ship and enjoy the ocean breeze? Are there any lounge chairs on a deck that is not enclosed so that you can enjoy looking at the ocean if you do not have a balcony cabin and do not want to be by the pool?

There are many places to enjoy the ocean without a balcony room. Lots of open air deck space. There is also a walking deck. You should watch a video tour of the ship instead of looking at pictures. There are many to choose from, and that will give you a great idea of what the ship is like.

The exterior on the promenade deck is a running track, and the lifeboats sit out there and block the view from almost everywhere.  A few places to look out, but smoking area out there as well.

Yep, there is a outside deck to stroll. Oasis Class ships have very, very limited places to see the sea if you are inside.  WJ is about it unless you get inside the DL.

If you don’t need all the bells and whistles and truly enjoy ocean views take a look at the Radiance class ships.  Lots and lots of floor to ceiling windows with many places to sit, read or just watch the ocean go by.

Our favorite class of ship….

Agreed. Radiance class is great for actually seeing the ocean.

I could be wrong but I don’t believe smoking is allowed anywhere outside on deck 5 on Oasis Class ships.  I believe smoking is only allowed on one side of decks 15 & 16 and part of the casino.

Only nice place to sit on Oasis class on promenade is the aft. A few chairs there. Best promenades are on older ships for those of us who like to sit and see the ocean.

Agree. The promenade decks on Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class ships are great for views and being close to the water.

Thanks to all of you who have replied. It looks as though I’m in for a different kind of cruise experience — cruising without seeing the ocean. Hum. Well, looks like after this it will be Radiance or Vision from now on. Booked this cruise because it’s out of Galveston and we live in Katy and the date coincides with my retirement from teaching and birthday. I’ll make the best of the experience no matter what.

Allure is amazing and I've never had an issue seeing the ocean. Maybe this won't be the best ship for you... OR... maybe you will love it for all it has to offer. At least you will have had the experience and can judge for yourself.
