Can non-refundable OBC still be used in the Casino

Nope.  No fee at all. They had a $20 minimum, and my son had ~$19 in OBC left.  He went to guest services, gave them the dollar, they added it to his OBC to give him exactly $20 and the casino gave him exactly $20 in a voucher.

Just for purposes of information for others, I've been on ships where the minimum was $50 and it had to be in increments of $50 (that is, you could take out $150, but not $130 as an example)

The machine.  And I did play a bit, but not equalling the total amount. I think it can vary by ship though

We'll also be on the Equinox.

I don't really gamble at all but my husband likes Blackjack . I'll tell him to start at the slots though - right?

I don't know anything about the table games. And I can only advise what I did. I guess it could change at any time, and may vary depending on your Blue Chip status.

Not sure if it will be worth resurrecting this thread, but I am wondering, with all of the changes taking place on board, if non-refundable OBC can still be cashed out as described above.  I have used what I want to use on other items.  I still have a bit more to burn through, but I am not much of a gambler.  Has anyone had success with this method of late?

Might be best to not discuss it and just try it.  Posting about it may be the nail in the coffin.

Nail in what coffin?

X wants you to gamble, knowing that most people lose. If one gambles with OBC, they're giving you nothing in return. No food, no excursion, no duty free liquor, etc.  I'm sure a lot of people blow through whatever obc they have left while others cash out and some actually win.   The playing field is clearly tilted in their favour.

It was the celebrity booking agent. She wanted to make sure I knew about the OBC and the Casino. I wondered if this was closing the loophole.

I would take whatever told by celebrity agents with a grain of salt.   They meant well and will tell you, but I suspect they're telling you based on their experience, not necessarily from a script.

We got off the Summit 08/18, and we’re able to use nrobc at the slots. I put my sea pass card in  and transferred the desired amount(no limit) and played two spins($.75 per) and on the third play hit a small win. Pressed cash out and took the voucher to the window to get the entire amount as cash. This allowed us to withdraw the entire amount of non refundable credit. Last day withdrew refundable obc.
