Are Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam exactly the same ship?

Are Nieuw Statendam and the Rotterdam exactly the same layout? We sailed NS in November and it was a beautiful ship. Sailing RD in the spring. The only thing was I missed the openness of the lido area on other ships. It felt closed in to me. Thank you!

Yes  the new Statendam & Rotterdam are  the same  excepot for the year that they were built .If there are differences they are minor not major

Differences include the decor/art and Blend on NS is the new Half Moon Bar on Rotterdam.  Also Rotterdam has a library - NS does not.  I'd call the two ships similar but not the same.

There are slight differences to the layout of the deck 4 staterooms in the Forward area (4037~4047).

Rotterdam has a dedicated and stocked library, forward of Rolling Stone Rock Room whereas NSD has a sometimes used space, previously occupied by Microsoft Studio.

I've noted that the Rotterdam has a few added inside cabins in the forward area of some of the decks, causing the numbers assigned to all cabins aft of that, to not agree with those of K'dam or NS. Have only sailed on K'dam among the Pinnacle class, so can't speak to public areas of the other two.

The Center Lido pool area is the same layout as the NS. They both have the 2 floor deck area---which are actually much nicer than the older ships.

I don't think any two ships of any type are exactly the same.  These things are not mass-produced like cars or phones.  They are constantly making changes as the build newer similar ships based on learning from the prior ones, cost savings, safety enhancements, etc.

The toilets in the cabins are far better on the Rotterdam.

There's one MAJOR difference.  Rotterdam has a new lifeboat mounting setup and Rotterdam is the ONLY Pinnacle that can carry passengers through the Panama Canal.

The Rotterdam's Club Orange dining room is also reconfigured from the "America's Test Kitchen" original design on the Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam to a more upscale dining room look.   It's the same size room but the entrance is now on the side versus end and the flooring, tables, chairs, wall decor, etc. is classier looking (no more frosted windows with knife/fork/spoon clear sections either).
