Window Suites - Caribbean Princess

We love the window suites.  Have travelled in them on both Caribbean and Grand Princess. Convenient to everything.  All suite perks.  The floorplan below is the same for both ships.  We were in F309 on the Caribbean Princess in December, 2022.  Much larger than a mini suite, although no balcony.

There is absolutely no comparison to a Mini-Suite.  It is considered a FULL suite with FULL suite amenities and perks.

It has 21 drawers and 3 closets.  The living area is not separated like a Standard Suite.

The higher the cabin number the closer it is to the Piazza (center of ship).

Suite breakfast is in Sabatini's.

Club Class dining is on the same deck/same side...down the hall.

The cabins have their own hallway.

F301 is slightly smaller than the other cabins.  I generally pick F311.
AND you receive 2 travel credits.

Gee @MN Syrup Cruiser, I wonder where you got that floor plan (hee hee).

We were in F305 this past fall. Despite repeated calls to the purser's desk and maintenance along with several in-cabin visits from maintenance and management, we never had hot water in the cabin. Wife and I had to go up to 16 to the spa to shower.

Add to this the fact that the HVAC system just plain didn't work, again, despite numerous visits from maintenance. It was either too warm or (after they came in and replaced the control head) so cold we had to hang hand towels from the register in an attempt to restrict the cold airflow.

A real train wreck. NEVER again despite the aforementioned perks associated with an S7 cabin.

I have never missed the balcony.   Location Location Location.

My “balcony” was one deck up.  Yes, the Promenade did have noise from inconsiderate runners at 7 am. Thump, thump, thump.  Usually a message to CS service stopped that.

I have never been bothered by the noise from the casino nor the smoke from the cigar room. Is it there?  Faintly.

Breakfast is at Sabatini’s.  Only the Golden Princess had breakfast at the Crown Grill.  I was tempted to walk out in my PJs.

Longest cruise in a Window Suite?  B2B for 25 days.  It was wonderful.

Probably one of the best reasons for being in a WS is the ability to use your on bathroom anytime, especially on the way to the Princess Theater.  Not to mention your own (casino) bar around the corner.

Does anyone have experience with the window suite on the CP?  F301- F315?

Caribbean Princess is CB.  CP was previous Sea Princess.  It is a Princess designation, not a Cruise Critic abbreviation.  EM

Noise levels from the Promenade deck, and from the Casino ?

*Noise levels from the morning joggers was insignificant, heard one maybe two runners.

Noise from the casino was not noticeable in the cabin. If I put my ear to the wall opposite our cabin door I could barley hear the slots on the other side of the wall; yes, I tried it.

How long was the cruise, and did you miss not having a balcony ?

*7 days and no, we didn't miss it. We had 2 big picture windows.

Was breakfast in the Crown Grill ?

*Contrary to what was reported in an earlier post, we had our breakfasts all served in the Crown Grill. It lived up to expectations!

Thanks.

What I learned several months ago from a Princess Planner that Princess does not show the availability of Window Suites nor allow you book them online - you have to call to inquire/book. The reason I was given was that many people in the past that did book the Window Suites would get on the ship and realize there was no balcony and became very upset so Princess made the decision to not show availability or allow to book online. As mentioned above, Window Suites are now listed under Mini-Suites.

I get around finding availability by using a Big Box site to view availability of Window Suites and then call Princess to book directly myself. We have been in the Window Suites multiple times on the Caribbean and Grand Princess (have one booked currently on our upcoming Grand Princess cruise) as well as just completed a cruise on the Sky Princess in one of the two Window Suites on that ship - fabulous suite!

Currently, the Window Suites on the Grand Class ships are only available on the Caribbean Princess and the Grand (down under).  In order to book one, you "almost" always have to do it when booking first become available.

Princess moved Window Suites under Mini-Suites.  I don't have a clue why.  It just confuses Mini-Suite categories even more.  Too many new passengers think that a Mini-Suite is a Full Suite.  AND then to place WS under Mini-Suites, when they ARE full suites.  I will never understand Princess.

Yes, I have found it difficult to book a Window Suite on my own/online.  It shows up as available but a specific cabin can not be booked.  How a passenger can be confused when it clearly states there there is no balcony.  Yet, there have been a few times that the passenger has demanded to be moved.  That recently happened on one of my cruises.  I was speaking to our steward.

I will not book a Window Suite on the Royal Class ships.  Too forward/too high/to far away from the Concierge Lounge/too far away from everything.

Glad to hear that the suite breakfast on the Caribbean Princess will be/is in the Crown Grill.  Sabatini's is a very nice venue for morning breakfast, but Crown Grill is just outside.  I haven't been on the CB post pandemic.  On the Grand, it is a deck above in the Crown Grill.

This is a dumb question (maybe) but how does one book a window suite? Which category pulls that designation class up?

Even though it is a full suite, they have been listing them under mini-suites.

I do hope Princess offered you some kind of credit.   We were on the Grand last March and the temps went from warm to cold and they could not/would not fix it.   We froze to death.   They did call and offer us $500. PP for our discomfort.   The Gramd has since gone into dry dock.   Hopefully the HVAC got fixed.

I once had trouble with a cold shower.  Turned out to be user error.  Housekeeping supervisor came in to show me how the shower temperature knob worked.  DUH....Don't ask me how it works, but from then on, I can do it by myself.  Something about Left/Right AND pulling it FORWARD/BACK..  I once had issues with the air conditioner/fixed.  They need to replace the thermostats.  Hard on arthritic fingers.

I try to stay away from the cabins above the bow as it breaks through the water (F305/F307).  There is sometimes swooshing sounds under F305/F307.  It was explained to me.  Not important.  Not the stabilizers.   Maybe the "ballasts"?  Once went dead in the water and listed port.  That was really interesting.

Things happen on a ship. I'm just happy watching the waves go by.

We became hard core fans after our first window suite on the Caribbean Princess in 2019 on a Canada / New England voyage. The large windows offer such a wonderful view of the coastline. It’s like sitting in a deck chair without the cold! We just cruised Alaska in September in a window suite on the Grand. Same thing, the view of the coastline and glaciers from our comfy and warm stateroom was phenomenal. Fiesta deck is the same deck as your dining and very close to the theatre. In the morning, for an early coffee, just a few paces to the stairs down to the International Cafe it’s very quick.

My only complaint with those "LARGE" windows is that they get salt spray on them.  I would like to see someone hanging over the side of the railings to clean them for me...while we are at sea.  They are not always cleaned while in port.  Depends which side of the ship is dockside.

Princess should have designed the Royal Class ships to have Window Suites on the Fiesta Deck.  Currently, the fleet only has them on the Caribbean Princess and the Grand Princess.  I do not object to the beautiful layout of Window Suites on the Royal Class ships.  It's the location they chose for them that is the problem.  Too far forward.  Too high up.

Far away from everything.  Plus, I personally, do not care for the Royal Class ships.

On The Caribbean Princess, they ARE on the Fiesta Deck.  Floor 6.  Not sure what you are trying to share.

Are they on different decks on other ships that have them?  Some folks above talk about the casino bar being "right around the corner", but the casino is a deck above.  ???
