Best Location on the ship for Ovation Balcony room

I'm going to book an Alaskan cruise and wondering on ship location and deck?

I like the lower cabins near the elevator, you can hear the ocean

Take a look at deck plans to help decide. I always like having cabins above and below me for noise issues. Do you get seasick? If so, lower and middle is better. I prefer far forward and aft, since there is less foot traffic. I am a walker, so don’t mind getting the extra steps in.

We had deck 12 forward, 12560,  and found it to be very nice. Great view, never felt any movement. We were on the starboard side and had a city view at every port.

Just don’t book a balcony on deck 13, due to the overhang.  It makes it difficult to see the glaciers.

Deck 7 are considered obstructed but aren't.  They are sold less expensively.

Any of the owner's suites on decks 11 or 12 would be good.

 

Also the Royal Loft suite on deck 8 would be nice.

If Ovation has similar deck plan as other Quantum class ships then I think you meant to say deck 6 has some obstructed view cabins.

No I meant deck 7.  Deck 6 and deck 7 both have, what Royal considers, obstructed balconies, only the ones on deck 7 aren't really obstructed at all. Perhaps a tiny bit if you are at the rail and looking straight down but the obstruction is negligible.  We even got one on 7 that was at the edge of the hump and had an extended balcony. The deck 7 and 6 are priced the say though.

We booked balconies on deck 6 on Ovation for Alaska next year. The obstruction is really in looking straight down, as the lifeboats are in the way. But they are less expensive and I like the layout of the cabins ( we booked 6658 and 6258). One on each side so we always have a balcony to look out from, no matter where the action is!
