Jewel of the Sea . . or . . Celebrity Reflection

For our next cruise we are considering either the Jewel or the Reflection for next February.  Both are a southern Caribbean cruise.  Mostly interested in opinions on the ships and if one or another should be avoided.

Are they the exact itinerary? I'd book the itinerary I liked best not someone's positive or negative opinions or experiences. We've been on both ships. For us each cruise line and ship offer something the same and different.

I have been on each of these ships several times.  If itinerary was similar, I would definitely choose Reflection.

The Celebrity Reflection is so much better than the Jewel, it's not really a comparison. Oasis class is another matter, but the Jewel is from a different era.

If the itineraries are the same or similar I’d sail on Reflection having said that we’ve cruised on Jewel twice and thoroughly enjoyed both cruises.

Reflection just offers more.

I would also consider which loyalty program is better for your needs. While the points kinda work between the 2 companies, it would be better to get to Diamond before you go back and forth. Just something to keep in mind if all other things are equal.

I have been on a southern Caribbean cruise on the Reflection and loved it.  Have not sailed with Royal in many years.  I'm a Celebrity fan!

It also depends on the cabin category...we sail in suites and prefer RCCL suites.  I'm D+ and Elite+ and have recently found that when I'm comparing RCCL sailings to Celebrity, Celebrity is $1K's more for a similar sailing.

For the most part, we have switched from Royal to Celebrity. I've sailed the Jewel many years ago, and while not on the Reflection yet ( that's coming next year), we have sailed the Equinox, which is a sister ship and loved it. I don't think you can go wrong on either.
