lastchamp64 Posted March 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2023 We are first-time cruisers with Regent and will be on the Splendor at the end of this week in a penthouse suite (March 11th). We have all our excursions booked. We booked our three restaurant reservations. And we have booked two of the cooking classes. Having said all that, what are the onboard experiences not booked in advance that you all would recommend doing once we embark on the ship? If there are activities to book would I be correct to assume it would be the reception desk? We are really looking forward to this cruise and appreciate any opinions shared. Techno123 Posted March 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2023 If you have some onboard credit ( or happy to pay extra) the lunch with wine is very good. Costs $169 each but 5 course with a glass of the extra cost wine with each course. Book at your first lunch with one of the wine servers as it books up quickly 😁 if you like quizzes then afternoon trivia is good fun and there are usually lots of games organised by the entertainment team - no booking required just turn up and play.
John Cruise Posted March 5, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2023 If you play bridge, just show up, no booking needed. 😀
Lonedaddy Posted March 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2023 For Bingo, just go to the lounge and purchase a card or two usually on sea days. They also have a Hennesey tasting and a Macallan tasting as well.
irishwitchy Posted March 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2023 The wine and champagne lunches can be booked with one of bartenders, sommelier or assistant sommeliers in any restaurant. Do it early in the cruise. If your tastes run high end, you can keep a bottle of that at your favorite bar - just for you. For additional cooking classes or excursions, destinations services, not reception will take care of that.
Shelley G Posted March 6, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2023 Where are the available cooking classes listed? We are on the Voyager on March 15.
wcsdkqh Posted March 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2023 There are no cooking classes on any Regent ships except Explorer and Splendor.

SteveH2508 Posted March 9, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 9, 2023 DW is asking - do they still do the 'stitch and *****'/'knit and natter' sessions? On Voyager a few years ago they had complimentary embroidery kits which she thoroughly enjoyed doing (and still uses the end products).
cwn Posted March 10, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 10, 2023 Seems that on all cruises they have the needle work gathering about 4 in main lounge on sea days. Also most cruises have a craft class on sea days also. We had free needlepoint kits on three cruises this past Dec.
